If you're looking for a good meat restaurant near Sokcho Delpino, give this place a try!
I went in expecting ordinary pork galbi and came out completely won over by the taste of galbi that's hand-butchered on site. That's Yongchon Gogi-jip, located in Goseong!
When you're traveling, figuring out what to eat around your accommodation is oddly the hardest part. Especially at a place like Sokcho Delpino, where you're relaxing at the resort and just want to step out for dinner — you don't want to travel far, but you also don't want to just wander into anywhere.

This time I was searching for a meat restaurant near Sokcho Delpino and came across Yongchon Gogi-jip. Bottom line: if you like pork galbi, it's worth a visit at least once!
Three things to check before picking a Korean BBQ spot on a trip

When choosing a meat restaurant while traveling, there are three things I care about.
- First, is the meat itself good?
- Second, can you get a proper meal, not just meat?
- Third, do you leave thinking 'glad I came here'?
Those are my main criteria! Yongchon Gogi-jip checked all three boxes pretty well.

What we ordered that day was the hand-butchered pork galbi, and it was the thing that caught my eye first on the menu.

Every side dish and sauce had that homestyle grandma flavor, so good! And the scallion sauce was so tasty... a real magic that keeps making you reach for more.
Hand-butchered, salt-aged pork galbi: 250g for 18,000 won

We ordered the hand-butchered pork galbi at Yongchon Gogi-jip. One serving is 250g, priced at ₩18,000.
When you think of pork galbi, you usually picture meat soaked heavily in a sweet marinade — but Yongchon Gogi-jip's version was a bit different. They butcher the pork galbi themselves in-store and age it in a salt-based marinade.
I especially liked this part. Hearing that they handle and age the meat themselves made it feel different from pork galbi that's just tossed in sauce. Grilling and eating it, the seasoning wasn't overly sweet or intense — it felt like it let the meat's own flavor shine.
What Yongchon Gogi-jip's pork galbi tastes like off the charcoal grill

Another strong point: they bring out well-heated charcoal. Having camped a lot, I know that grilling slowly over charcoal gone white is the tastiest way!

There's something exciting about putting the pork galbi on the grill and waiting. As it sizzles and that savory smell rises, even if you weren't that hungry, you suddenly are. Pork galbi can turn tough quickly if overcooked, so grilling it just right matters.

I tried a piece cooked to a nice golden brown. At first I thought, 'it's pork galbi, so it'll taste familiar,' but the flavor in my mouth was cleaner than expected. Maybe because of the salt-based aging, the savory taste of the meat came through before any sweetness — and I liked that. And that keep-reaching-for-more taste 😋 that's really the important part!

It wasn't just 'that's tasty' after one bite — it made me reach for another. I could see why people say this kind of pork galbi is addictive once you taste it. Personally, when pork galbi is too sweet, I get sick of it after just a few bites, but here I kept eating without feeling weighed down. If you love meat, this style of pork galbi will probably win you over.
Want more than meat? Fresh pork kimchi jjigae for 10,000 won

There's a dish you always order alongside meat: kimchi jjigae (kimchi stew)! We also ordered the fresh pork kimchi jjigae as our meal item at Yongchon Gogi-jip. It's ₩10,000. I hesitated a bit over whether to order jjigae after already eating meat, but in the end, it was the right call.
How spicy is the fresh pork kimchi jjigae at Yongchon Gogi-jip?
The bubbling kimchi jjigae arrived, and the broth was spicy yet refreshing from the first spoonful. There was a generous amount of fresh pork in it too, so it wasn't just a broth-only stew — there was fun in picking out the meat chunks as well.
After eating meat, a spoonful of spicy jjigae feels like it resets your palate. And eating it with rice made me realize once again that a meal at a meat restaurant really should end with jjigae. If the pork galbi let you enjoy the savory, clean taste of meat, the kimchi jjigae's spicy, refreshing quality complemented it perfectly. Personally, I'd recommend ordering the fresh pork kimchi jjigae along with your meat rather than stopping at just meat.
Where to eat dinner near Sokcho Delpino Resort

When you go to Sokcho Delpino, there are so many good restaurants nearby that it's hard to decide where to go. I was also searching for 'is there a decent meat restaurant near the resort?'
Trying various things at tourist spots is great, but sometimes after a full day of wandering, you just want a proper meal of warm rice and meat in the evening. A meat restaurant is a pretty good choice for that. Especially if you're traveling with family or friends, menu choices can get tricky, but pork galbi tends to have broad appeal, making it an easy shared meal. With the pork galbi and fresh pork kimchi jjigae, we felt pretty satisfied and full after that meal.
Three things I liked about Yongchon Gogi-jip
First, the pork galbi is hand-butchered in-store. It's not just galbi marinated in a ready-made sauce — the fact that they butcher it themselves and age it in a salt-based marinade was impressive. That hands-on care came through, and the flavor stuck with me after eating.
Second, the pork galbi isn't overly sweet. If you like the classic sweetness of pork galbi but find overly sweet marinades a bit much, this could be the spot for you. I usually get sick of the sweetness after a while, but this time I kept reaching for more.
Third, the fresh pork kimchi jjigae. When a meat restaurant's meal menu falls short, the end of the meal can feel a bit empty — but the spicy, refreshing broth loaded with fresh pork was satisfying. Finishing off meat and a hearty bowl of rice left me with that 'I ate well tonight' feeling.

And on top of that, a savory steamed egg custard comes out free of charge!!!
Is Yongchon Gogi-jip worth it for a proper meat meal in Goseong?
A good restaurant on a trip is memorable not just for the food but for the mood of the day. After a whole day wandering around Sokcho and Goseong, grilling up delicious pork galbi and finishing with a spicy jjigae and rice felt like the perfect way to close out the day.
Personally, 'what should I eat on this trip?' is more stressful than expected, so once you find a place you like, it makes future trips much easier to plan. So if you're looking for a meat restaurant near Sokcho Delpino, Yongchon Gogi-jip is worth adding to your list. If you want to properly enjoy the hand-butchered pork galbi, start with two servings, and add the fresh pork kimchi jjigae as your meal for a filling meal.
