My hair had gotten dry and the ends felt rough, so I took time off on a weekday to get a clinic done. This time I visited Beorn Hair Cheongdam, a hair salon in Cheongdam-dong.

Beorn Hair Cheongdam is on the 2nd floor at 710 Seolleung-ro. I booked ahead and visited on a weekday, and the inside was clean and tidy. Instead of the usual busy salon vibe, it felt like a place where you could get treatments done comfortably, which I liked. The plant interior gave it a fresh feel too.

There's a shampoo area and a spa room. I finished up in the spa room, and with the full-body massage at the end, it felt like a real healing moment.

This inner keratin clinic was done by designer Yumin. Before starting, she checked my hair condition and explained the process, and she kept explaining briefly what each step was for as we went, which made it easy to relax through it.

Designer Yumin also specializes in consultations for layered cuts, C-curl perms, side-part perms, and see-through shadow perms. It made me think that next time, instead of a clinic, it might be worth getting a consultation for a style change.

How does the inner keratin clinic work?

The inner keratin clinic runs in 5 steps total. After I sat down, designer Yumin first looked over my hair condition and explained today's inner keratin clinic. Rather than jumping straight into the treatment, she showed me the whole process on a tablet first. Knowing it would be 5 steps, I could see in advance what order the care would come in.

Step 1. Shampoo and first keratin care

It started with a shampoo to clean and smooth the hair's surface. She explained this prepares the hair so care products absorb well, then fills damaged hair with high-molecular keratin protein. Being the first step of the clinic, it felt like the real work was beginning.

Step 2. Low-molecular keratin

The second step cares for the inside of the hair using low-molecular keratin protein. She said this opens the cuticle so care products can absorb better.

Step 3. Protein, moisture and lipid care

The third step filled the hair with protein, moisture, and lipids. She explained it also includes a CMC replenishing process. Think of it as a step that addresses dry, rough hair from several directions at once.

Step 4. Cuticle care

The fourth step treats damaged cuticles. It smooths out split or lifted cuticles so hair feels bouncier and more hydrated. By this point my hair already felt calmer and more settled than at the start.

Step 5. Coating the hair surface

The fifth and final step finishes with a surface coating on the hair. She explained this adds shine and helps prevent color fading while keeping it lasting longer. She also finished with a scalp massage.

How the hair looked and felt after the keratin clinic

After the whole clinic, my hair definitely felt calmer than before. Running my hand along the ends, the part that used to feel rough was noticeably softer, and everything felt more settled overall.
