Chocolate brown dye and red-light head spa at Myeongdong salon Yerideu
In short
Yerideu Hair is a hair salon on the 3rd floor of a building on Myeongdong 8-gagil in Jung-gu, Seoul, a short walk from Myeongdong Station. At Yerideu Hair the writer had a clinic dye in chocolate brown with the orange and red tones taken out, followed by a scalp spa using an AIRAPHA red-light head spa device and an MSPA reclining chair. The dye smelled mild and the chocolate brown toned down without looking washed out, so Yerideu Hair suits anyone who wants color and scalp care in one visit.

I'd been wanting to dye my hair for a while but couldn't decide where to go. While looking for a salon around Myeongdong near Euljiro, one place caught my eye, so I went and checked it out — Yerideu Hair salon.

Finding Yerideu Hair near Myeongdong Station: up to the 3rd floor
Yerideu is a hair salon on the 3rd floor of 26 Myeongdong 8-gagil, Jung-gu, Seoul. If you walk around near Myeongdong Station there are salons everywhere, but Yerideu stood out even from the sign. On the stairs up to the 3rd floor there's a KOPA 2024 certification plaque, and the moment I walked in it already felt premium — I knew I'd found the right place, haha!

How the chocolate brown color consult worked
This time I went with a clinic dye at Yerideu. Looking at the color chart, I picked a chocolate brown tone and told the designer I wanted to remove as much orange and red as possible. She carefully checked which brightness level would suit my skin tone too, so I could decide without much worry.

Mist and scalp protector before the dye
Before applying the dye, the designer noticed my hair was quite dry and used a mist on it first. Such attention to detail.

After the mist calmed my hair, she applied a scalp protector. She was really thorough with it!!
Then she applied the dye — being a clinic dye, the smell wasn't strong at all and it felt really mild. It surprised me. Once everything was applied, it was time to wait.

The dye was applied really thoroughly, and she checked in carefully along the way. Honestly, whenever you get your hair done at a salon, the waiting between cuts is what wears you out — is it just me?? She must have known, because she brought me snacks, so the wait wasn't boring at all.

What the AIRAPHA red-light scalp spa felt like
Along with the dye, I also got a scalp spa at Yerideu this time — scalp care done with an AIRAPHA red-light head spa machine.

For the scalp spa, I lay back comfortably in an MSPA reclining chair. With the red light on, my scalp was cared for without any irritation. The water temperature was just right too. The designer checked my scalp condition throughout and explained each step in detail, which made me trust the process. And during the shampoo, the fingertip massage felt so good I nearly fell asleep with my eyes closed. Once the care was done and I rinsed, I could immediately feel how much lighter my scalp felt.

My body got a massage and my scalp got a spa — total paradise. I really didn't want to get up, haha.

The finished chocolate brown color and hair condition
The finished color turned out a softly toned-down chocolate brown that looked natural, and my scalp felt noticeably lighter. My hair also felt smoother and shinier — I could feel the softness the moment I touched it. I also liked that in the mirror the color didn't look too bright, and settled naturally. And since the shampoo and scalp care were done in the reclining chair, my whole body felt lighter too, haha. I came in for a salon visit and left with both my body and my hair feeling lighter.
How Yerideu Hair differs from franchise salons, plus a booking tip
Compared to franchise salons, Yerideu clearly bundles clinic care into the treatment itself!! Usually adding a clinic treatment costs an extra ₩30,000–80,000, but here the clinic product is mixed right into the dye, so it's naturally part of the process. It seems like a good fit for anyone who wants scalp care alongside their dye. That said, walking in without a reservation can mean a wait, so I'd recommend booking ahead.
