Daegu café with wide windows and rooftop: Hands Coffee Dongchon
In short
Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch is a café in Dong-gu, Daegu, with seating from the second floor to a fourth-floor rooftop. I had two lattes and two chocolate-based cakes; the cakes were not overly sweet, and the roomy seating and views of Dongchon Resort stood out.

I stopped by Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch (핸즈커피 동촌유원지점) for the first time in a while while visiting Dongchon Resort. I rested over coffee and dessert, and the open outdoor views and spacious interior stayed with me.

Where is it, and is parking available?
The address is 5-6 Hyodong-ro 6-gil, Dong-gu, Daegu, South Korea. The original post lists its hours as daily from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM. It is large with plenty of seating, so I used to come here often for get-togethers with friends.

There is dedicated parking for the café, which was convenient when traveling by car. The café covers 145 pyeong and has 120 seats, as well as a terrace.

What are the views like from the wide windows and rooftop?
The café extends from the second to the fourth floor. Ordering and pickup are on the second floor, while the rooftop is on the fourth. Each floor has slightly different seating and an atmosphere of its own, so I could choose the spot I wanted. The seats were also spaced relatively generously, so it did not feel cramped.
On the fourth-floor rooftop, the view opened up broadly. The interior is surrounded by wide windows as well, so I could drink coffee while looking out at Dongchon Resort.

No matter where I sat, I could look outside, making it a nice place to take a break. On this visit, I enjoyed spending time in the space as much as the menu.

Where do you order, and what is on the menu?
I could order at the kiosk on the second floor. At the time of my visit, there was also information about a receipt-review event.

The menu was varied, from drip coffee to waffles. There were also many desserts, so I paused for a while to decide what to have.

There were several kinds of cake, too. This time, I chose two chocolate-based cakes instead of waffles.

Brunch dishes were also available. These included Hands House Brunch, Creamy Mushroom Pasta, Truffle Button Mushroom Soup, Chicken Granola Salad, and Soft Jambon-Beurre. I saw quite a few people having meals. I only had coffee and dessert this time, but I thought it could also work as a date spot that includes a meal.
How much were the lattes and cakes, and what did they taste like?
- Silky Gourmet Cream Latte: ₩6,800
- Ice Cream Latte: ₩6,800
- Fig Chocolate Pound Cake: ₩6,500
- Black Sesame Gâteau Chocolat: ₩7,500
The Ice Cream Latte had a rich milk flavor and was smooth, like coffee milk. The original post said the ice cream is made with Sangha Farm milk and contains no added water.

The Silky Gourmet Cream Latte was topped with soft cream. The cream had a sweet flavor like milk caramel, and as I ate it, it reminded me of caramel ice cream.
The Black Sesame Gâteau Chocolat was a cake generously topped with soft black sesame cream. The nutty black sesame flavor made it feel different from a typical chocolate cake. It also had the dense, rich texture characteristic of gâteau chocolat.

I chose the Fig Chocolate Pound Cake because it was fig season. I could taste sweet fig jam alongside rich chocolate, and its characteristically dense pound-cake texture went well with coffee. Both cakes suited my taste because they were not overly sweet.

It was a good visit for slowly enjoying coffee and dessert while looking out at Dongchon Resort. With ample seating and generous spacing, I felt it would also be good for meeting friends or coming with a larger group.
