Daegu riverside brunch café: Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort
In short
Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch is a café on a hill in Dongchon Resort, Daegu, overlooking the Geumho River. I visited with my baby for creamy mushroom pasta, a jambon-beurre sandwich, and iced long blacks; the rich pasta and soft sandwich worked well together, and the fourth-floor outdoor garden was nice for a short walk afterward.

I stopped by Hands Coffee Dongchon Resort Branch (핸즈커피 동촌유원지점) for brunch while visiting Dongchon Resort. Set on a hill, it had an open view of the Geumho River and was a pleasant place to relax over coffee and a meal.

Where is it, and are parking and moving between floors convenient?
The address is 5-6 Hyodong-ro 6-gil, Dong-gu, Daegu. There is a dedicated parking lot, and the hours listed in the original post are 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily.

The café begins on the second floor, so I took the elevator up.

The usable space runs from the second through fourth floors, with the counter on the second floor. Both stairs and an elevator made it easy to move between floors.

What are the Geumho River view and interior like?
The interior had a warm, comfortable feel overall. Because it is up high, I could see the Geumho River spread out below through the windows. The third-floor interior also let me enjoy the view.

Is there a good space to relax with a baby?
I visited with my baby, and I liked that there was an outdoor garden on the fourth floor. After coffee and brunch, we stepped outside for a short walk. There were also low platform-style tables and sofa seats, making it a comfortable place to rest.
It was quiet when I visited. It also seemed suitable for having coffee alone or working on a laptop.
What comes with the brunch set?
There was a wide selection of coffee, other drinks, and desserts. I came for brunch that day, so I did not order dessert separately.

I ordered the Double Tray Hands Brunch Set B, one of the brunch items said to be available only at the Dongchon Resort Branch. It came with creamy mushroom pasta and a soft jambon-beurre sandwich. I also added two iced long blacks.

How rich is the creamy mushroom pasta?

The thick, rich mushroom sauce coated the pasta well, so the mushroom flavor came through quite strongly.

Crisp toppings and vegetables added texture to the nutty, smooth cream sauce. The sauce was rich but not overly heavy for my taste, and I could also notice a subtle truffle aroma.
Does the soft jambon-beurre pair well with the pasta?

The jambon-beurre sandwich had soft, mild bread. I could also taste the butter inside quite clearly.

The mild ham and nutty butter went well together. I personally liked alternating it with the pasta, and the ingredients felt fresh overall.
How is the iced long black with brunch?
The iced long black was straightforwardly good. It was clean rather than strongly bitter, so it did not get in the way of the food. It paired nicely with the pasta and jambon-beurre.
On this visit, I was happy with both the time spent resting over the Geumho River view and the brunch meal. Coffee alone would be nice too, but the combination of pasta and jambon-beurre stayed with me.
