It’s the season when early autumn is approaching, isn’t it? I change my nails whenever the season changes, so I went to get them done for a little mood boost to celebrate autumn arriving. Honestly, I’m not stylish enough to request a nail-art design of my own, so I usually choose a monthly art design. This time, though, I found one that was exactly my taste, so I visited a Hongdae nail salon: Byuazeu Hongdae Nail, Lashes & Skincare.

Because it operates by reservation only, booking ahead through Naver Booking is essential! I contacted them in advance too, then visited with a Naver Booking reservation.

Byuazeu, the Hongdae nail salon, is in a white-toned building, about a 5–6-minute walk from Hongik University Station. The entrance is up a short half-flight of stairs.

I also saw that they have quite a history of certifications and awards. It made me feel I could trust them with nails, pedicures, and skincare alike.

A space for nails and skincare

At Byuazeu, the Hongdae nail salon, there are two tables for nails and two chairs for pedicures, so it looks like two people can be treated at once.

There were so many nail colors too, so if you have a clear idea of what you want, this seems like a great place to let your imagination run free. The staff are skilled at nails and nail art, with plenty of experience, so it was nice that you can request the design you want.

The nail-art zone had a variety of designs displayed on the wall, and it made me think it would be fun to try something a little more distinctive next time.

There were many kinds of monthly art too. They range from ₩49,000 to ₩89,000, so you can choose according to your taste. Pretty designs are updated every month, and getting a membership to maintain them at a relatively lower cost could be a good idea too.

Byuazeu is a total beauty salon, so there was also a space for skincare treatments. The areas are well divided, so it seems like you could relax while being treated.

I didn’t need it because it was summer, but if you come wearing outerwear, it would be nice to hang it up so it can be stored without getting wrinkled.

They also had a nice variety of welcome drinks ready. The service felt good as a basic standard. I only drank plain bottled water, but there were lots of other drinks too, so it seems you can help yourself!

Asymmetric monthly art in brown tones

This is the monthly art design I got. Since it was autumn, I chose it because I wanted to try brown tones. It wasn’t too plain, but it also wasn’t overly eye-catching—the design suited me perfectly, so the moment I saw it, I thought, This is it!

Before starting the basic nail care, they asked what length and shape I wanted. My nails were already short, so I asked them to shape them into almonds to suit their existing length.

They carefully worked on my nails and cuticles.

After that care, my nails looked so neatly tidied up.

And here are the finished nails. I had an asymmetric design done on both hands, and they did it carefully and quickly. There was no unnecessary chatting, and their hands moved fast, so it was exactly my kind of nail salon.

I loved the luminous little parts on my thumbnails because they feel so current, and I liked the design even more because it captured the autumn mood so well.
