Gangnam hair salon dark brown color correction: Beorn Hair Cheongdam

The color I dyed a few months ago had faded in patches and become way too light for my skin tone, so I visited Beorn Hair Cheongdam, a Cheongdam-dong hair salon known for great coloring :)

It was incredibly close to Gangnam-gu Office Station—just a one-minute walk from the station—so it was super convenient. Valet parking is available too, so I think driving here would be fine!

I really loved the calm atmosphere of the neat, spacious interior. Even the sunlight coming through the floor-to-ceiling windows was so pretty. I visited at an in-between time on a weekday, but there were still lots of people getting colors and perms!

A dark brown consultation for patchy hair

Designer Seonjun did my hair, and first asked what style and color brightness I wanted. Based on that, we went ahead with the color consultation.

My hair was very patchy and tends to lose color quickly, so Seonjun said it would be better to dye it dark and let it fade slowly and beautifully over time. That was exactly what I wanted too, so we decided on a dark brown :)

My roots had grown out a lot, but more than that, the patchily faded color had been stressing me out so much ㅠㅠ The yellow tone also clashed with my skin tone and looked like it was sitting on top of it, so I wanted to get rid of that feeling. Seonjun said a slightly darker color would properly even out all the patchiness.

They prepared iced coffee and snacks too, and I enjoyed them so much! The Americano was so good that I wondered if this was secretly a coffee spot—I finished a salon coffee for the first time ever, haha.

They started by spraying on a scalp protector. It felt so refreshing; it was a hot day and my scalp was feeling warm, so it instantly felt amazing. They carefully sprayed it all over to keep my scalp from getting damaged.

Then they applied the dye thoroughly, while I drank coffee, used my phone, and relaxed :) The two of them worked quickly and carefully, so the whole coloring process took only about an hour. I got dye on my phone while taking a call, and they must have noticed from afar because they brought me a wet wipe. I was so touched by the thoughtfulness ㅠㅠ

We finished up in the shampoo room, and wow—the shampoo itself was incredibly refreshing, and the acupressure was no joke. It genuinely felt like I had come for a head spa and massage, so even though it was short, it was such a healing moment.

A calm dark brown that evens out the patches

Ta-da, finished! It was a dark brown I absolutely loved. While drying my hair, Seonjun also explained how the color would fade over time. I loved that it came out exactly like the color I had imagined, and the brown showed through even more in natural light—totally my style!!!

The darker brown definitely turned my patchy hair into a clean, even one-tone color, making it look much calmer and more polished. It was exactly the kind of color I love.

Most of all, it was such a perfect personal color for my complexion, so I was really grateful to Designer Seonjun for recommending it, haha.

My skin tone definitely looks about two shades brighter, and with fall just around the corner, it is perfect for creating a calm mood. Somehow my hair even looks healthier too, haha.
