It was not very visible from the front or sides, but I had curls inside the back of my head that bothered me whenever I wore my hair down. To smooth the curls at the back, I booked a specific stylist at One & Only Hair Gwacheon Government Complex Station, near Gwacheon Government Complex Station, for a volume straightening treatment.

Does the assigned stylist handle the whole treatment?

This salon used a one-on-one system in which my assigned stylist handled everything from start to finish. The stylist personally carried out the intermediate steps as well, including shampooing and applying the treatment product. They were kind throughout my appointment, which made me feel comfortable.

How did I discuss the back curls and volume concerns?

Even when I dried my hair well, only the back would puff up, and it became frizzier on humid days. There were hidden curls underneath when I lifted the outer layer, so I was always conscious of the back view that was hard for me to see.

During the consultation, I said that I wanted to straighten the curls but did not want my hair to lie flat against my head. I was worried it would become flat from the crown down. The stylist divided my hair into sections to suit my head shape and hair, focusing on smoothing the curly areas.

The price list shown during my visit was based on short hair, and there was also information about a 20% first-visit discount. However, the original post did not record the specific price of this volume straightening treatment.

How was the treatment tailored to my hair condition?

Before the treatment, the stylist shampooed my hair according to its condition. The products used were also available for purchase at the salon.

After checking my hair condition, the stylist worked so that it would look naturally smoothed while avoiding my bangs, the sides, and the areas close to my scalp. They checked the condition several times during the process.

They also brought me bread and coffee during the treatment, so I could wait comfortably while eating.

Even from the midway check, I could tell that the curls were straightening and the overall shape was becoming neater. My hair did not end up lying too flat, as I had worried it might.

How long did it take, and how did the back of my hair change?

The treatment took a little over two hours. The biggest change was at the back. The uneven, puffed-up back of my hair looked smoother, and the hair fell calmly downward. I did not get a haircut, but it looked much neater from behind.

How did I care for my hair afterward?

For two days after the treatment, I used only conditioner instead of shampoo, then began shampooing after those two days. I also avoided tying my hair tightly or wearing a hat for a while.

The back of my head has always been a concern because it is hard to blow-dry while looking in a mirror, so I was happy that the inner curls I had worried about were smoothed this time. Even if your curls are not severe overall, if frizz in a particular area concerns you as it did me, it may help to explain that area and the volume you want in detail during the consultation.
