Gangnam café with gallery exhibits and classic tiramisu: Selected Nicks

Selected Nicks, a large café near Gangnam Station, has an open rooftop and gallery spaces full of atmosphere where you can admire artists’ work amid different concepts on every floor, along with Seoul’s night view. It’s a hot spot near Gangnam Station that stays busy not only on weekends but weekdays too, so I stopped by for coffee on a weekday morning before a lunch appointment.

Getting there from Gangnam Station and parking

Selected Nicks is a large café near Gangnam Station, a five-minute walk from Exit 3. It’s easy to reach by public transit, but if you drive, you can use the Taewon Academy building parking lot at 24-10 Gangnam-daero 84-gil for free. SUVs and large sedans are not permitted.

Kiosk ordering and the tiramisu menu

After passing the outdoor terrace and entering the first floor, you’ll find the area for café desserts and drinks. Follow the waiting line and order at the kiosk. Of the 10 tiramisu varieties, two- and four-piece gift sets can be picked up by reservation, so you can collect one if you book through Naver in advance.

There are vanilla bean lattes, decaf cold brew, milk tea, cinnamon and berry lattes, ginger lemon and yuja green ades, cherry Coke, Vitamin Beet, a three-flavor tiramisu platter, and chocolate banana, matcha, strawberry, Dubai chewy, carrot, raspberry, and pistachio tiramisus, plus Selected Nicks financiers and individual tiramisu sets. The financiers were still being prepared, so I ordered tiramisu and two drinks instead.

Seats on every floor, from the rooftop to the basement

After ordering at the kiosk, I took the elevator up to look around the eighth floor and rooftop. There are plenty of seats on each floor: 30 on the rooftop, 22 on 8F, 58 on 3F, 43 on 2F, and 40 on B1. The Selected Nicks Hidden Room rental space accommodates up to six people and has a Nintendo, board games, and a monitor; you can bring in outside food too.

The sun was too strong for the rooftop, and there were lots of study groups on the third floor, so I settled on the second floor. With plenty of outlet-equipped bar tables by the windows, Selected Nicks Gangnam is a great large café near Gangnam Station for laptop work.

The second-floor gallery exhibition changes monthly

The second-floor gallery exhibition changes every month. Pop-art works related to Winnie the Pooh, Disney, and famous animation characters are displayed, making this a large café near Gangnam Station where you can enjoy coffee and art at the same time. There is only one elevator at Selected Nicks, so please use the outdoor stairs for B1 and floors 2–3 where possible.

I was curious about the three-flavor tiramisu platter too, but with a lunch appointment ahead, I chose the classic tiramisu for dessert. Selected Nicks’ tiramisu layers mascarpone cream over sponge cake. I tried the coffee first, and it was clean without a burnt taste, so it went beautifully with the classic tiramisu. Recommended coffee at this large café near Gangnam Station.

There was a lottery-event notice beneath the ordered items: write a photo review on Naver Place to receive one lottery ticket, or add the café as a KakaoTalk friend to spin the roulette. Give it a try! Selected Nicks’ tiramisu is a high-quality cake that is lovely for takeaway or as a gift, so I hope you visit at least once :)

Full-day rentals of B1, 2F, and 8F are available through Naver Booking. The basement space has a beam projector, making it good for company meetings and corporate seminars, while the eighth floor’s high-rise city view suits party-room and proposal rentals.
