Inside Omokgyo Gopchang: is it good for a work dinner?
Walking into this Omokgyo restaurant, it was bigger than I expected with decent spacing between tables, so it was comfortable to sit and eat. Everything felt clean and tidy, with plenty of tables, so it works well whether you're coming with friends or a bigger group. Maybe that's why so many people were coming in for dinner after work. It's exactly the kind of place for gopchang with a shot of soju, so it'd make a solid Mokdong spot for a group dinner!

Omokgyo Gopchang menu and ordering the mixed platter for two
Looking at the menu, there was a wide range — gopchang, daechang (large intestine), makchang (rectum), garlic beef short rib, beef brisket, teukyang (grilled beef stomach) and more. It's not just intestine dishes, so it's a good pick even if someone in your group doesn't eat gopchang. I wanted to try a bit of everything, so I ordered the mixed platter for two!

The menu at this Mokdong meat restaurant even had tips on how to eat it for the best experience. Handy if it's your first visit and you want to know the best way to go about it!

Does a reservation really mean no wait at Omokgyo Gopchang?
Since I'd reserved in advance, they had the table already set up for me the moment I arrived. Starting the meal without any waiting felt great, and that kind of attention to detail is exactly what makes this Omokgyo restaurant stand out 👍 There was also a nice variety of side dishes to go with the gopchang 👏

They also bring out sundubu-jjigae (soft tofu stew) as a complimentary dish at this Mokdong meat restaurant! The hot broth with soft tofu was great to have while waiting for the main food.

Mixed gopchang, the fire show and green onion kimchi
The mixed gopchang platter came with gopchang, daechang, and makchang all together, so I got to enjoy several different flavors at once.

They also do a fire show — flames shoot up dramatically, and it was fun to watch.

Now, time to actually eat! The staff explained step by step how to eat it properly — what order to go in, which sauce pairs well with what — so even first-timers could dig in without any confusion! The green onion kimchi served alongside is house-made, and it paired with the gopchang better than I expected!

The intestines were packed full inside, so every bite had that rich, savory flavor. The more you chew, the deeper the flavor gets — a true certified Seoul gopchang restaurant 👍

Family meal, date or group dinner: who is Omokgyo Gopchang for?
If you're looking for a restaurant in Mokdong, this place seems perfect whether it's a family gathering, dining out with your parents, bringing kids, a date, or a group work dinner 👏 The food quality and relaxed atmosphere overall had me saying I'd definitely come back 👍

Finishing with fried rice, plus the self-photo booth on the way out
And of course, you can't skip the finishing fried rice! You know how there's always room for fried rice even when you're full, hahaha. So I ordered one at the end too. It comes with egg, the portion is generous, and it was the perfect way to wrap up the meal!

After finishing up at this Mokdong meat restaurant, I noticed a self-photo booth right by the entrance — it prints your photo instantly, so I snapped one and took home a little memory of the day!! It'd been a while since I had proper gopchang. If you're looking for a Mokdong meat restaurant, give Omokgyo Gopchang a try!
