Bulk mochi discount and red-bean kiwi mochi in Gyeongju: Tareudang
In short
Tareudang is a takeout fruit mochi and tart shop on the main road of Hwangnidang-gil in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk. Buying 4 or more mochi gets ₩500 off each, and the writer packed peach yogurt, mango, pineapple, and golden kiwi mochi back to the guesthouse, finding the kiwi and pineapple ones — filled with red bean — the standouts. Pineapple came out on top, followed by peach yogurt, kiwi, and mango, with almost no wait on a Saturday early afternoon.

I've been really into mochi lately and keep buying it, and Tareudang's fresh fruit mochi kept popping up on my feed haha. Since I was already heading to Gyeongju, I picked some up to try — here's my review!

Tareudang sits right on the main road of Hwangnidang-gil in Gyeongju, so it's easy to find — the mochi signboard catches your eye from far away. Just a heads up, it's a takeout-only shop 🍓🍊🥝🍍

Mochi flavors and the 4-piece discount
When I visited there were 6 flavors total: original chocolate, peach yogurt, mango, fig, pineapple, and golden kiwi. The lineup seems to rotate a bit.
If you go late, some flavors might be sold out, so I'd recommend an early visit. Buy 4 or more and you get ₩500 off each one, so if you love mochi it's worth grabbing 4 to take home. I bought 4 myself and they disappeared in no time lol.
- Peach yogurt
- Mango
- Pineapple
- Golden kiwi
My favorite fruit is strawberry so I wanted to try the fresh strawberry mochi too, but it wasn't in season — guess I'll have to come back in winter?! 😎

Besides mochi, they also sell various tarts like egg tart, mango egg tart, and brûlée cheesecake tart, which made me curious — I'll have to try the tarts next time. Some desserts had already sold out though.

So many round little mochi

Free box and cooler bag for a photo review
Writing a Naver "photo review" gets you a free box plus a cooler bag. I had some time before check-in at the guesthouse, so I did it and got the cooler bag — the staff were super friendly too.

The cooler bag is cute haha, and easy to carry around too — would make a nice gift. They also tucked a small ice pack under the box. Since it's packed with real fresh fruit, they recommend eating it the same day if possible.

Tasting the 4 mochi flavors back at the guesthouse
Back at the guesthouse, I opened the box to find 4 colorful mochi neatly packed inside. Pretty rice cakes taste better too, right? 😝

Peach yogurt mochi
First up, the peach yogurt mochi — it has a whole peach inside, and the peach itself was so good ㅠ perfectly ripened, right between crunchy and juicy, exactly my type 💘 The outside is dusted with sweet custard powder, the mochi wrapping is thin yet chewy, and the whole peach inside was delicious. Highly recommend the peach yogurt mochi! 🍑

Mango mochi
The mango mochi comes with cream cheese inside. I wish the mango had been a bit firmer — the one I got was a little mushy. That's just personal preference though, so if you like mango mochi it's still worth trying 🥭

Kiwi and pineapple mochi with red bean
Unlike the other flavors, the kiwi and pineapple mochi both have red bean inside. I love red bean, so the cream + red bean + fruit combo was great, I ate them happily 😆 Each mochi was packed with fruit, so one bite and it's full of juice.
Tareudang mochi flavor ranking and best time to visit
The combination of mochi and fresh fruit worked really well together, and I enjoyed it a lot. My personal ranking was pineapple > peach yogurt > kiwi > mango. If you love mochi or are looking for a good dessert spot on Hwangnidang-gil, Tareudang is worth a stop.
I visited on Saturday at 13:00 and there was almost no wait. I passed by on Sunday and saw a long line, so I'd recommend going Saturday morning or early afternoon.
