Gyeongju café with tree-view seats and cream lattes: Yard
In short
Yard is a café in the Bomun Tourist Complex in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk, with yellow cosmos fields and leafy tree views. After visiting Seokguram Grotto and Bulguksa, I relaxed here on a weekday with a signature cream latte, matcha latte, and chocolate whipped-cream cake. Verdict: a peaceful stop for a scenic break during a Gyeongju trip.

I made a super-quick trip to Gyeongju because I was short on time. If I get the chance next time, I’d love to come back and take it slow. After diligently making the rounds at Seokguram Grotto and Bulguksa from the morning, we had lunch nearby and stopped by Yard, a café in the Bomun Tourist Complex, to rest a little. Right in front of the café is a 1,000-pyeong flower field, and it was full of beautiful yellow cosmos in bloom at just the right time, which was lovely. It’s so perfect for autumn flower viewing too, right?! We visited on a weekday as well, so it felt even more relaxed.

Yard, with flower-field and tree views

Yard is a Bomun Tourist Complex café with a flower field. Brunch is popular here too, and if I come back, I’d want to visit in the morning and try it -

There were outdoor tables near the entrance too, and they’d be great for having a cup of coffee while looking out at the flower field.
One more look at the yellow cosmos field before going into Yard. I once drove eight hours round trip to Yangpyeong just to see yellow cosmos, but when I got there, I was so busy looking at all the people that I didn’t take a single photo. Maybe it was the weekday bonus, but I loved being able to enjoy the flowers at such an easy pace. The sky was completely autumnal too - ♥

The front has flower-field views, while the side of the café has this lovely, lush green tree view. Ah, it really made me feel like I was traveling and taking my time. The flower view was nice, but this fresh green view was wonderful too.

When you head upstairs to the second floor -

Oh my... an even fuller tree view with all those leaves. Personally, I thought this space was really, really pretty.

So lots of people were facing this window - there were seats with beanbags too, and the guests relaxing there looked so at ease.

And back at the front, ta-da, yellow cosmos again. It was my first trip to Gyeongju since I was little, and it felt so peaceful that I found myself wondering whether Gyeongju had always been such a quiet, beautiful place.
Yard’s menu and what we ordered

Ordering is easy at the kiosk. They sell a wide variety of drinks, including coffee, other beverages, tea, ade, and juice, as well as brunch, cake, bakery items, and bingsu (shaved ice dessert). Quite a few bakery items and bingsu choices were sold out on the day we visited, which was a shame. The brunch options looked tasty, and the prices seemed reasonable too '3'

There were five kinds of cake. Burnt cheesecake, crêpe cake, lemon torte, hallabong black tea cake, and chocolate whipped-cream cake.

There are high chairs too, for families to keep in mind -
Signature cream latte and matcha latte

What we ordered: a signature cream latte for ₩6,500, a matcha latte for ₩6,000, and chocolate whipped-cream cake for ₩7,500. Cafés in spots like this are usually pricier, so I was surprised that the drinks and cake were more reasonably priced than expected.

We polished off the rich, dense chocolate whipped-cream cake with coffee and matcha latte :D Yard was such a nice Bomun Tourist Complex café for taking a relaxed break.
A café for a restful break on a Gyeongju trip

Yard was the Bomun Tourist Complex café we stopped at for a short rest after being on the go in Gyeongju since morning. From the wide-open yellow cosmos field to the window seats filled with green trees, every seat made it easy to soak up a relaxed atmosphere. The drinks and desserts were not overly expensive, and there’s brunch too, so it seems like it would be a nice place to visit for breakfast! The flower field changes with the seasons, so if you’re looking for a Bomun Tourist Complex café where you can take a break with pretty scenery during a Gyeongju trip, Yard would be well worth a stop.
