Today I'm sharing an honest review of Plan A Restaurant, a pasta spot in Pohang with an incredible ocean view where you can enjoy fancy Western food while taking in the wide-open blue sea. Right in front of Songdo Beach: the exterior and how to find it

Plan A Restaurant sits along the coastal road facing Songdo Beach in Pohang. You head up to the 4th floor of the building that has a GS25 convenience store on the ground level. Being on the 4th floor, the building's exterior already raised my expectations for the ocean view through the floor-to-ceiling windows. You can take the elevator up comfortably.

As soon as I stepped inside, I was struck by the clean, stylish space where white tones, wood, and sleek lighting all came together. There were soft cushions and knee blankets neatly arranged for guests too — a thoughtful touch.

But what really caught my eye was the blue Songdo sea stretching out beyond the front floor-to-ceiling windows! Dining while looking out at the sea under bright, warm sunlight made the atmosphere feel truly special. The moment I walked in, I understood exactly why so many people call this one of the best date restaurants in Pohang.

Each table had its own tablet ordering device, so I could take my time browsing photos and descriptions of the menu and order easily. (One menu item per person is required!)

The lineup was packed — truffle aglio e olio, beef tomato spaghetti, shrimp soup spaghetti, and more pastas to choose from, plus pilaf and a chop steak plate. We decided to try the savory pasta, the meat fried rice, and the hearty steak too.

Our dishes filled the table with neat, tidy plating! The mouth-watering visuals, combined with the ocean view outside the window, made it feel like a proper healing moment.

One plate came piled with fresh balsamic salad, crispy fries, and juicy chop steak. The meat was tender, not tough at all, and the combination of onions, mushrooms, and sauce made it hard to stop reaching for more.

The rice was fluffy and fried just right, loaded with big chunks of meat and other ingredients, and topped with a savory sauce and cheese — a hearty dish that anyone, young or old, would love.

A breathtaking Songdo ocean view — blue sea by day, and a soft sunset or night view by evening — makes this a perfect spot for a date or anniversary.

Both the food and the atmosphere satisfied us — the pasta, steak, and pilaf were all clean and generously portioned, with nothing to dislike. Just be sure to check the Tuesday closure and the weekday/weekend break times before you go.
