Maybe it’s because I’m in my late twenties now, haha, but I’ve been craving Korean food all the time lately?! While my friend and I were looking for dinner, we went to Bujasikdang in Jung-gu, Daegu! I’d saved it because it’s known as a great Korean restaurant 💛

Banwoldang Bujasikdang location and visitor information
It’s just a short walk from Exit 21 of Banwoldang Station! Head into the alley and you’ll spot it right away.

Banwoldang Bujasikdang (반월당부자식당) specializes in Bujaseok Galbi, fire-grilled stir-fried squid, and hot-plate fire-grilled stir-fried pork!! It’s a popular spot in Jung-gu, Daegu that has even appeared on TV, so I’d wanted to go for ages—and finally got to try it.

There are three parking spaces in front of the restaurant. If they’re full, you’ll need to use a nearby paid parking lot.
When we walked in, there were so many signatures!!

There are eight four-person tables, two two-person tables, plus a separate room! We went on a weekday evening and walked right in without waiting. It isn’t huge, and since it’s a popular Jung-gu spot, I think there could be a wait on weekends.

Ordering fire-grilled squid and pork, plus the basic spread
Check out the menu! Signature-dish orders come with cheongguk doenjang-jjigae (fermented soybean paste stew). Rice is separate. They also had single-serving meals for solo diners!! 👍

Here’s the origin information~~

They had restaurant Wi-Fi too~!

I photographed mostly the signature dishes! We ordered two portions of the fire-grilled squid-and-pork stir-fry today. The squid sounded delicious, and so did the stir-fried pork..🤤 Luckily, there was a mixed dish, so we didn’t have to choose.

They had a Naver receipt-review event, too! Join in and get yourself a drink~~
Here’s the basic spread! Every side dish was one I love 💛💛 I really like neat, simple side dishes like these.

You can get wrap vegetables from the self-serve bar. There were lettuce, peppers, and ssamjang (seasoned soybean dipping paste). Only take what you’ll eat!! I grabbed extra lettuce and peppers too. It looks even more generous now, right?? haha

There were aprons hanging along the wall, too. Since the freshly made food comes out on a hot stone plate, it sizzles and splatters a little. I recommend wearing one!!

Fire-grilled squid and stir-fried pork with smoky flavor
The squid-and-pork stir-fry arrived!! Drool,,, We were both hungry, and when we saw it, we were like, wow, this looks seriously delicious haha. We tucked the enoki mushrooms underneath to cook on the stone plate, then ate them at the end, hehe. Listen to that sound. Sizzle, sizzle..

What a generous spread! Let’s dig in~~ 😋

How delicious is it when you eat the squid and pork together~~? Because it was fire-grilled, it had that smoky flavor, and the seasoning was sooo good too. I really, really recommend the fire-grilled squid-and-pork stir-fry!
The cheongguk doenjang-jjigae that comes with the meal! It had lots of tofu and vegetables in it, too.

It had a wonderfully savory doenjang flavor, perfect for spooning up alongside rice. You know how rice goes down even better when there’s broth, right?! haha. So my friend and I each ate one and a half bowls of rice. There was just so much to eat that we needed more rice!!!!!!

It was insanely good wrapped in lettuce, too! The Cheongyang pepper gave it a sharp spicy kick, and it paired perfectly with the stir-fried pork. It was spicy but addictive, so I kept eating it haha ㅠ

The restroom is inside the restaurant. They even had mouthwash stocked in there. Such a thoughtful touch from the owner!!!

My friend had been craving Korean food lately too, and said we’d had such a good meal. The location is convenient, so I think it would be great for office workers’ lunches as well. If you’re looking for a great Korean restaurant near Banwoldang, I recommend Banwoldang Bujasikdang ❤️❤️
