Daegu beef barbecue with easy parking and patbingsu: Gogi 9dan

Getting everyone together for a delicious meal out is such a big happiness~!! This time, my parents, my husband, and I—a total of four people—visited Gogi 9dan Chimsan Direct Branch, a Daegu beef spot that everyone talks about.

A great first impression: easy parking

When taking my parents to a good restaurant in Daegu, the food matters, of course, but parking has to be easy too, like it is at Gogi 9dan. There is a huge dedicated parking lot on the first floor of the building, so I was happy the moment we arrived!

Better yet, they say you can also use the National Health Insurance Service parking lot right next door on weekends and public holidays, so parking worries are completely zero. Haha

As soon as we walked in, we could see the chef trimming the meat in real time! It was the kind of sight that made us say, “Wow, they prepare it right here?” and my trust level instantly shot up. 🤩

Seeing all the certificates covering the wall, I could understand why this place is so well known.

The staff were all kind and seemed very well trained, so we really felt looked after.

The coffee machine and dessert corner to enjoy after the meal were neatly arranged too, so I was already looking forward to leaving!

Charcoal-grilled skirt steak and Seokcheong galbi

Once we sat down and looked at the menu, there were so many different cuts that it was hard to choose.

Since there were four of us, we first ordered a half platter of skirt steak for ₩54,000 and a half platter of Seokcheong galbi for ₩47,000!

The charcoal heat was so good that the delicious smell hit our noses the second the meat went on the grill. Amazing!

The skirt steak had such a rich beefy aroma, and its savory flavor grew with every chew. My parents were completely satisfied too!

The Seokcheong galbi had a subtle marinade that soaked right into the meat, making it a flavor kids would really enjoy too.

What comes in the 9dan Set?

When meat alone feels just a little incomplete, there is one menu item you absolutely have to order! It is the ₩18,000 9dan Set, and it is seriously packed with good things.

A plate piled high with fresh Korean beef yukhoe (seasoned raw beef) arrives, and it already gets a passing grade just from the looks. 👍

Put nicely cooked beef or yukhoe on the sushi rice that comes with it, and voilà—instant beef sushi!

With just a little wasabi, the quality was nothing to envy at a Japanese restaurant. Everyone in the family gave it a thumbs-up.

It also comes as a set with pork kimchi-jjigae (kimchi stew) and jjolmyeon (chewy spicy noodles), so the value was honestly incredible.

The stew broth was spicy and rich, cutting right through the meat's fattiness, so we could just keep eating forever. Haha

A space for families with children, plus dessert

By the time we had finished and got up, Gogi 9dan, this popular Daegu beef restaurant, was already completely full. Its popularity was no joke!

There was also a children's playroom to one side, and I could see families with children enjoying their meals comfortably. It is not huge, but it is a nicely useful space for children to run around in for a little while.

The perfect finale to our meal was this refreshing patbingsu (shaved ice with sweet red beans)!

Finishing with shaved ice topped generously with sweet red beans and chewy rice cake left our mouths feeling refreshed. That said, there may be a wait during weekend peak hours, so it is best to reserve ahead or arrive a little early.
