Looking for real pork BBQ flavor near the Gwangalli beach area? Then check out Gwangan-mok Gwangan Branch. Let's dig into what makes Gwangan-mok, a leading name for Gwangalli pork BBQ and Millak-dong pork BBQ, so appealing.
Where to park at Gwangan-mok Gwangan Branch
Parking at Gwangan-mok Gwangan Branch is subsidized — using the Gwangan Sinho Parking Tower gets you ₩1,000 off per hour. The address for Gwangan Sinho Parking Tower is 59-7 Gwangan-ro, Suyeong-gu, Busan.
The storefront and the 168-hour dry-aging sign

Gwangan-mok gives off a sleek vibe with its trendy wood and brick combination. Visiting in the evening, the softly lit 'Gwangan-mok' sign made quite an impression. Through the front glass you could see the lively interior.

Walking up to the door, you'll spot a sign announcing what makes Gwangan-mok special. Apparently the pork here goes through a full 168 hours of dry-aging before being smoked and pre-grilled on an asado grill. That kind of careful process seems to be the secret behind the deep flavor of the meat. You can also see certifications like VISIT BUSAN PASS and KCIA (Korea Consumer Industry Assessment), confirming this is a recognized restaurant. They also run a Catch Table reservation system, so booking ahead means no waiting.

Sure enough, when I visited, the Catch Table device already showed 3 parties waiting. It really drove home how popular this place is. A waitlist like that usually means the food delivers.
Inside Gwangan-mok and the reserved window table

The inside was full of energy. Every table was packed with guests and staff bustled around serving everyone.

Clean, modern table settings with individual ventilation at each spot. There's a digital menu board too, so ordering is easy. It'd make a solid date spot as well.

Since we'd booked ahead, they marked our table as reserved and seated us right by the window.
Gwangan-mok menu and the lunch set

Here's info on the lunch set menu. It runs daily from 12:00 to 15:00 and includes free bibimbap and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew). Signage is in both Korean and Chinese, showing they're ready to welcome a range of guests.

There are various options like set menus (Set A/B) and the Gwangalli Only Set. Main meat options include Anmok pork neck, special pork belly, and Gwangan-mok thick-cut pork neck. The bottom of the menu explains Gwangan-mok's points of difference in detail — anchovy salt, basil wraps, coffee charcoal, the asado grill, dry-aging, chimichurri sauce — you get a sense of the place's philosophy. There's also an ongoing event offering a makgeolli shake or steamed egg for writing a Naver review, so don't forget to join in.
Side dishes and the chimichurri sauce

Once seated, a neat spread of side dishes arrived, each in its own small bowl. Standouts included baek-kimchi (white kimchi), myeongnan-jeot (salted pollock roe), pickled garlic scapes, a gochujang-based sauce, and a distinctive herb sauce.

These sauces are made to be paired with the meat. Chimichurri sauce in particular, a traditional South American sauce, does a great job cutting through the richness of the meat. Try mixing and matching to build your own combination.

Is Gwangan-mok corkage-free? Bringing your own wine
Gwangan-mok Gwangan Branch is corkage-free, so we brought our own wine. They even gave us wine glasses.

Dry-aged pork neck and belly, grilled by the staff
We put the house specialty — dry-aged pork neck and belly — on the grill. The thickness of the cuts was incredible. Around the edge of the grill you can also cook a vegetable tray (tomato, potato, mushroom, green onion, etc.) alongside the meat. Pre-grilled on the asado grill, the meat carried a subtle smoky char. The sizzling sound and smell got the appetite going. Staff grill the meat for you, so you can just relax and enjoy the meal. Thanks to the dry-aging, the texture was tender and the flavor even richer.

The doenjang jjigae we ordered with the meat was rich and savory — excellent. Served in a stone pot, it stayed hot until the very end. Plenty of tofu and zucchini made it a nice break between rounds of meat.
Final thoughts on Gwangan-mok Gwangan Branch
If you're after Gwangalli pork BBQ or Millak-dong pork BBQ, I'd point you toward Gwangan-mok for its distinctive flavor and atmosphere. Between the carefully prepared meat, tasty side dishes, and stylish setting, it's a solid choice. If you're planning a trip to Busan, it's worth a stop.
