Gyeongju café for yellow cosmos flower viewing after a hike: Yard

I heard there was a café with a gorgeous view where you can admire yellow cosmos in Gyeongju, so I went with a friend to Yard near Bomun Tourist Complex.

Yard opening hours and brunch hours

It is open daily from 09:00 to 20:00, with last orders at 19:30. It may close earlier than the hours listed on Naver depending on operations, so it would be best to check before visiting. Brunch is served from 09:00 to 15:00.

It was easy to get to the café using navigation! It is a cozy, charming house-shaped café. There are parking lines on the left side of the building, so parking should not be too much of a worry.

Ordering at the kiosk and picking up bread

You order at the kiosk, then after paying, pick up and carry your own bread.

I visited after brunch service had ended, so sadly I could not order brunch, but luckily there were still croissants and pretzels left.

I picked up a tray and plates on the right, then went to collect the bread we had ordered~

Our pretzel and croissant. We picked up the bread first and looked around for somewhere to sit. The weather was so nice, and I wanted to relax while looking at the beautifully blooming yellow cosmos outside, so we chose an outdoor table.

I picked up a few more necessities, such as cutlery and tissues, and warmed the bread a little in the oven provided because I wanted to eat it warm.

What are the first- and second-floor seats like?

We had chosen an outdoor table, but I was curious about the interior, which looked just as large as the exterior. While waiting for our coffee, I decided to look around the café.

Yard has plenty of window seats, lots of tables, and a clean color palette, so it is also nice for groups.

There is even a second floor, so there is absolutely no need to worry if the first floor is full! It seemed you could leave used dishes at the return station. The women’s restroom is on the second floor and the men’s is on the first—just so you know~

The stairs lead straight to the second floor, and there is a prettily decorated section along the way so the climb is not boring.

There are more group tables on the second floor than on the first, so it seems ideal for families and larger parties.

There are sofa seats too, so you can sit almost reclining and relax in comfort. The overall café atmosphere is clean, making it really nice for families as well. And the second floor is great for looking out at the yellow cosmos too... This place... really is all about the view, isn’t it..!?

Our coffee came out. It was sweet and nutty, so even someone like me who knows nothing about coffee enjoyed it.

A walk through the yellow cosmos field

I had looked all around the café~ Now it was time to enjoy tea time while taking in the scenery~ It had been a while since my friend and I went hiking, and wow, I was so tired and worn out... Consistency is important, but I really have not been hiking much lately..ㅠㅠ Before chatting away with my friend, I wanted to see the yellow cosmos up close, so I casually said I would pop over to the cosmos field and headed off haha.

On the right, a field of yellow cosmos blooming brightly in orange and yellow tones gave me the warmest welcome..!

Cosmos blooming period

2026.08.15–2026.10.15. That is the yellow cosmos blooming period, so if you are planning to visit Yard, it would be helpful to keep the flowering season in mind.

The cosmos was even prettier up close..! When I think of cosmos, pink flowers immediately come to mind, so it was fascinating to see yellow cosmos for the first time at Yard. The colors were so beautiful that I lost track of time flower-viewing. I walked along the path, soaking in the yellow cosmos..

Further in, there were benches set up for sitting, so I think you could get lots of lovely photos here. An unknown tree..! It had pink flowers blooming on it—you're so pretty too.

Now it was time to scamper back to the café to chat with my friend. Walking toward Yard alongside the yellow cosmos in full bloom. Pretty~ So pretty~!

Before crossing the road, I turned back for one more look at the cosmos field because I was reluctant to leave. Ahhh~ now that is proper flower viewing.

Yard is a café I would recommend as a place to visit in Gyeongju! It is nice for a date in Gyeongju, and for coming with family or a larger group. I hope you enjoy a relaxing time admiring the beautiful yellow cosmos at Yard.
