Gyeongju café with cosmos views and floor-to-ceiling windows: Yard

The weather has been so nice lately, so I bet lots of you are wondering where to go for an outing! Today, I’d like to introduce a photogenic café that has recently become one of Gyeongju’s hottest spots—you can admire beautiful flowers and take as many perfect photos as you like. It’s Yard (야드), a café near the main road by Gyeongju World in Gyeongju’s Bomun Tourist Complex! 🌸

From the wide-open outdoor flower-field view to the atmospheric interior and the rich, delicious coffee, everything was perfect. I highly recommend it as a must-stop on a Gyeongju date or trip.

Floor-to-ceiling windows across two floors and an outdoor terrace

Yard is a large café occupying an entire two-story building. As soon as I stepped inside, the spacious, comfortable interior opened up before me, so it never felt stuffy at all. There’s also an outdoor terrace, which would be especially nice on a beautiful day like these.

One of the biggest draws here is definitely the huge floor-to-ceiling windows! Plush, comfortable chairs line the window seats, and simply leaning back and quietly looking out at the lush green trees and seasonal scenery felt like all my everyday stress was melting away.

The expansive outdoor view from the second floor has a charm all its own, so I definitely recommend heading upstairs, too.

But Yard’s absolute highlight has to be the broad outdoor flower field right in front of the café! Step outside and you’ll find the view filled with orange cosmos in bloom. In person, it was so pretty and vibrant that it honestly made my jaw drop.

A walking path and photo spots have been beautifully set among the flowers, making it the perfect place to stroll and enjoy the blooms. Take photos against cosmos swaying softly in the breeze, and every shot feels like a keeper. The vast orange field, blue sky, and green mountain foothills came together so beautifully—it was truly an ideal place to make precious memories with friends, a partner, or family.

Café latte and vanilla latte

After all, sightseeing is best done after you’ve eaten! Once I’d had my fill of the lovely scenery, it was time for coffee. On this visit, I ordered a café latte and a vanilla latte. One sip in, and the coffee was honestly far better than I expected!

The café latte balanced the nutty richness of milk with espresso’s pleasantly bitter, deep flavor, while the vanilla latte was not overly sweet and had a subtle, uplifting vanilla aroma that felt wonderfully refined. I enjoyed every last sip. A cool latte while looking out at the greenery beyond the floor-to-ceiling windows was simple but certain healing.

As I looked around, I heard that this place is known not only for coffee and desserts, but also as a great brunch spot!

Since it opens early and serves brunch from 09:00 to 15:00, I found myself wanting to come early next time I’m in Gyeongju and leisurely try the much-talked-about brunch menu, too.
