Lunch on day one of our Seosan trip happened near Seosan Techno Valley in Seongyeon-dong, which was right on our route. We went to Ilpum Yangpyeong Haejangguk Seosan Seongyeon Branch, a place my husband loves~!

Where is Ilpum Yangpyeong Haejangguk Seosan Seongyeon Branch, and when is it open?
Ilpum Yangpyeong Haejangguk Seosan Seongyeon Branch is at 127 Seongyeon 3-ro, Seongyeon-myeon, Seosan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, near Seosan Techno Valley. It's open from 7am to 10pm, so you can eat here anywhere from early morning to a late dinner.

Ilpum Yangpyeong Haejangguk Seosan Seongyeon Branch has a large, convenient parking lot in the back, so it was easy to come by car. Being near Seosan Techno Valley, it's also a good stop on a commute or after a work meeting.

Inside Ilpum Yangpyeong Haejangguk: a wide hall for solo meals and group dinners
Ilpum Yangpyeong Haejangguk Seosan Seongyeon Branch has a wide hall with generous space between tables, so groups can sit comfortably too. It's also one of the more well-known Yangpyeong haejangguk franchises nationwide.

It was easy to spot from the main road too.

The restaurant is so spacious, with group seating tucked in the back, that it seemed perfect for a group gathering in Seosan.

It felt totally comfortable eating alone too — I saw plenty of solo diners. You can get a solid, filling meal quickly here.
What is on the menu at Ilpum Yangpyeong Haejangguk?
The menu at Ilpum Yangpyeong Haejangguk carries flavor, spirit, and nostalgia. Haejangguk (hangover soup) really is Korean soul food. There's Yangpyeong haejangguk loaded with sundae (blood) and offal, bone haejangguk, sundae gukbap, naejangtang (offal-only soup), yukgaejang, and galbitang.

My husband ordered the large Yangpyeong haejangguk, and I ordered the galbitang.

Yangpyeong haejangguk (large), 14,000 won — how do the seonji and cheonyeop taste?
The large Yangpyeong haejangguk is 14,000 won and came in a big, steaming hot ttukbaegi (stone pot), with more volume than the regular size. Basic side dishes included kkakdugi, cabbage kimchi, cheongyang chili, and onion, plus a mustard soy sauce.

From the very first spoonful, it felt like it cleared my stomach right up. It's not too spicy or too salty, so it tastes great.

There was plenty of cheonyeop (beef tripe), sundae (blood), and other pork offal in it. I loved how much bean sprouts there were.

It really was the large size — so generous! The bean sprouts kept their crunch, and the sundae was soft and clean with no gamy taste at all. The broth was rich and spicy-hot, so refreshing. The cheonyeop was well-boiled and tender too. Dipping it lightly in the mustard soy sauce made it even more delicious.
Galbitang, 16,000 won — rib meat and ginseng in the bowl
The galbitang was 16,000 won, served in a very large ttukbaegi with a huge portion. There was plenty of rib meat in it too, which made it fun to fish out and eat.

I even fished out the slightly bitter ginseng and chewed on it haha. The meat came off the bone easily, so it would be great for feeding kids too.

The broth was clear yet rich, so refreshing that my spoon kept going back in~! My husband and I shared it. We're the type who like to mix rice into the soup, so we did that too haha. Definitely a delicious spot for haejangguk in Seosan.
