Toddler-friendly opening rush at Mikado Sushi, a Seosan restaurant

Today I'm bringing you a revisit review of Mikado Sushi in Seosan — the place our family runs to without hesitation every time we're craving sushi!

Every plate is the same flat price, so you can pick up as much of your favorite sushi as you like without worrying about cost. This visit was fully satisfying again, so today I'll round up some small tips for first-timers and for anyone visiting with kids!

Parking and the wait — what if you go 10 minutes before opening?

Mikado Sushi Seosan has really solid parking.

Thanks to the generous parking space, I didn't have to worry about parking at all even though we drove there. Loved that.

Mikado Sushi is always busy. There can be a wait during peak times, so we deliberately arrived 10 minutes before opening, earlier than the lunch peak.

But... even arriving 10 minutes before opening, we were 3rd in line! Still, thanks to the opening run we got seated right away. By the time we finished eating, the wait number had already jumped to 24.

Even so, since it's a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant, the food is already prepped and ready to grab, so turnover is fast and you don't wait long even when it's full.

Once the staff seats you,

broth and water are set on the table by default! It's so convenient being able to refill as much as you want!

Every plate at Mikado Sushi is a flat ₩2,100, so since the price is the same across the board, you don't need to worry about plate colors and can just eat comfortably!

📌 Tips for using the Seosan branch

• No wasabi by default: sushi generally comes without wasabi or with it adjusted, which makes it really good for visiting with kids. You can add fresh wasabi to taste if you want.
• Custom orders: if you don't see the menu you want on the belt, don't hesitate to ask the chef! They'll make it fresh on the spot so you can enjoy it even fresher.

My personal Best Menu picks you shouldn't miss

Among the countless plates of sushi passing by on the belt at our go-to spot with Tteou, here are my top recommended picks!

1. Yukhoe sushi (beef tartare) & wagyu sushi: whenever I come to Mikado Sushi, I eat at least 3 plates of this as a baseline.

The combination of the savory seasoning and fresh yukhoe is just the best.

2. Salmon varieties (salmon roll): soft salmon topped with a special sauce and cream cheese — I genuinely can't stop eating it.

3. Eel sushi: eel sushi coated in sweet-salty teriyaki sauce. The eel pieces are chunky, so every bite is really satisfying to chew! Great for picking by part, like tail or body!

which we enjoyed in a variety of ways.

What did we feed our 29-month-old?

It's recommended not to feed raw food like sashimi before age 5, so 29-month-old Tteou mainly enjoyed inari sushi (fried tofu pouch sushi) and egg sushi.

Cooked shrimp sushi seemed okay too. And if you feel like sushi alone isn't quite enough for your kid, you can fill them up with soba and broth too. If you're visiting with a kid on baby food, just feed them exactly what I did and you'll be set!

Oh, and Mikado Sushi also has plenty of baby chairs on hand.

Sides & dessert to finish it off perfectly

When sushi alone feels like it's not quite enough, pairing it with mini udon, soba, or tempura from the belt or ordered separately is just right.

This was mostly tempura, and the meat inside is genuinely plump! It's topped with chili sauce.

The shrimp tempura is really delicious too, ㅠㅠ and the dipping sauce is totally my taste! We finished up by grabbing the fruit, pudding, and mini cakes going around on the belt, and ended the meal in a great mood.
