I've been dying for some Western food lately, so I went and checked out When You Bite, a brunch café in Tangjeong, Asan! The weather was absolutely perfect that day. I was already in a good mood before I even left, and once I actually got there, I was in an even better mood!

When You Bite in Tangjeong, Asan: the exterior and where to park

When You Bite is a brunch café on the 1st floor of 72 Maegokhandeul 8-gil, Tangjeong-myeon, Asan-si, Chungcheongnam-do. There was an open spot right in front of the store, so I just parked in the alley. There's also a public parking lot right next door, so if there's no space, you can use that instead!

Can you sit at the outdoor tables at When You Bite?

When You Bite has separate outdoor tables, and since I'm an outdoor-seating person, I really wanted to sit there! I asked a staff member if it was okay to sit outside, and they said yes and even set up a tablecloth for us, haha.

Lasagna and basil pesto shrimp pasta: cleared in 8 minutes

Lasagna and pasta served together at once

It took about 10 minutes for the food to come out, but everything arrived at once, which was great for photos.

Basil pesto shrimp pasta topped with large shrimp

But it was so good that we finished it all in 8 minutes....

The basil pesto was seriously a work of art — the balance between the olive oil and basil was perfect. The shrimp were huge and plump too, which I loved! You could really taste the freshness.

It was good enough to make me want to mix rice into the basil sauce and eat it like a risotto, no joke.

Cross-section of When You Bite's soft lasagna

The lasagna was really soft too, and the seasoning wasn't too strong, which I appreciated. The staff were kind, the interior was pretty, and it had that perfect brunch café feel, so overall I was very satisfied. The pickle side dish also cut through the richness nicely, so I finished everything feeling refreshed to the last bite!
