Hongdae soufflé café with Häagen-Dazs on Greek yogurt: Think Fruit

In short

Think Fruit is a seasonal fruit soufflé dessert café on Wausan-ro 29-gil in Mapo, Seoul, near Hongdae. On a weekday visit the order was a peach soufflé for 22,000 won, a salted cream milk tea for 7,500 won and an iced Americano for 5,500 won, and cutting the peach in half revealed Greek yogurt inside, topped with the Häagen-Dazs ice cream served alongside. Between the pillowy batter, the peach juice, the yogurt and the ice cream, one plate at Think Fruit felt generously complete.

I suddenly had a huge craving for soufflé the other day, haha. I love dessert in general, but soufflé pancakes aren't actually sold in that many places, so this time I decided to seek out a genuinely famous spot. That's how I ended up at Think Fruit!

A plate of Think Fruit's peach soufflé

It's a place anyone hunting for soufflé in Hongdae has probably heard of at least once, so I was curious too.

Dessert at Think Fruit, a Hongdae soufflé café

It's especially known for its soufflé cakes topped with seasonal fruit, and it's even been featured in the Blue Ribbon guide, so I went in with high expectations.

Think Fruit is located at 14-12 Wowsan-ro 29-gil, Mapo-gu, Seoul, 1st floor, and it's open daily from 11:00 to 22:00. 🚗 Parking is on the difficult side, so I'd recommend taking public transit!

It's an easy walk from the Hongik University area. Even on the weekday I visited there were quite a few customers — some quietly enjoying dessert alone, others there with friends.

The white-and-wood-toned café interior

Inside, the space has a white tone with wood accents, so it felt clean overall but still comfortable to sit in. There's nice light coming in through the windows too, which made it good for photos :)

It felt like exactly the kind of place to seek out when you're craving seasonal-fruit desserts, like these days.

Going with peach this time! My order and prices

Looking at the Think Fruit menu, there were several seasonal fruit soufflés available.

A menu board listing fig and peach soufflés

At the time they had both fig and peach, and after going back and forth, I ended up ordering the peach soufflé, haha.

  • Peach soufflé ₩22,000
  • Salted cream milk tea ₩7,500
  • Iced Americano ₩5,500

That's what I ordered.

A table set with peach soufflé and drinks

Since I came for Hongdae soufflé, the soufflé was obviously the main event! But there's one thing I really have to mention here — the salted cream milk tea, haha.

Recommending the salted cream milk tea!

Think Fruit's salted cream milk tea is ₩7,500. At first, going just by the name, I assumed it would just be a sweet milk tea, but once I tasted it, there was a subtle saltiness alongside the sweetness. The sweet milk tea combined with the salty cream meant the sweetness never got heavy, and I kept going back for one more sip!

I could totally see why it's a popular signature menu item, haha. Personally, if you're visiting Think Fruit, I'd recommend trying the salted cream milk tea alongside the soufflé :)

The salted cream milk tea paired with dessert

If you're looking for a slightly different drink at a Hongdae dessert café, this was a solid choice. The iced Americano had a clean taste that paired well with the dessert too. Sweet dessert really does call for an Americano, haha.

Peaches piled high — first impressions of the peach soufflé

The peach soufflé finally arrived! The moment it landed on the table, there was more peach on top than I expected, and it looked seriously delicious, haha.

A soufflé generously topped with peach

It wasn't just a light garnish of fruit on top — it was actually built so you could properly enjoy the peach.

More than anything, the soufflé itself wasn't heavy like a regular pancake — when I pressed my fork in, it gave way softly, with that pillowy, springy texture!

Pressing a fork into the soft, fluffy soufflé batter

That's exactly the charm of soufflé, isn't it, haha. The light, fluffy batter combined with the juicy peach meant the texture kept changing with every bite, and it made me so happy......

Even the napkin has a smiley face on it, haha

It was worth the trip to find Hongdae soufflé :)

But wait, what's inside? Greek yogurt hidden in the peach

While eating, I cut the peach in half, and another ingredient appeared inside! It was Greek yogurt. (Right up my alley.)

I'd assumed it was just peach and soufflé on top, so finding Greek yogurt tucked inside the peach was a nice surprise....!

The sweet, juicy peach combined with the freshness of the Greek yogurt kept the whole thing from feeling heavy, so it was easy to finish to the last bite, haha.

A bite of soufflé with peach and Greek yogurt

If you love the combination of fruit and yogurt in particular, this should be right up your alley. The soufflé batter was fluffy and the fruit was generous, so the plate felt more substantial than I expected.

Topping it off with Häagen-Dazs ice cream

I also can't skip the Häagen-Dazs ice cream that came alongside the soufflé.

Putting the ice cream on top of the soft soufflé and letting it slightly melt into the batter added even more softness — it was genuinely delicious that way.

Ice cream placed on top of the soufflé

Personally, eating the soufflé, cream, ice cream, and peach all together was so much better than eating the peach alone, haha.

💛 If you're looking for dessert in Hongdae

These days, when I go to a café, I'm drawn less to the usual desserts you can find anywhere and more to menu items that are unique to that specific place. In that sense, being able to have a soufflé made with seasonal fruit was a real plus for Think Fruit.

A wide view of a table at Think Fruit

Since it was peach season when I visited, I got to enjoy the soft soufflé alongside juicy peach together. It seems like a great spot for when you're craving something sweet on a Hongdae date, or when you want somewhere relaxed to sit and chat with a friend.

They even give you Häagen-Dazs if you leave a review, haha

Most of all, I was satisfied to finally, properly eat the soufflé I'd suddenly been craving after so long :)

If you're on the hunt for soufflé in Hongdae, I'd recommend trying the seasonal fruit soufflé together with the salted cream milk tea, haha. Next time I want to come back when a different seasonal fruit is in season instead of peach!
