Daejeon Italian restaurant for fire-grilled steak pizza: Plate Dunsan

The weather has been getting pleasantly cool lately, and I’ve been craving delicious Italian food so badly! I know everyone must be wondering where to go, so I visited this amazing pasta spot in Daejeon that totally hit my taste from the atmosphere to the food ✨ I got there early and made it straight in with no wait—free pass, haha! Let me share my honest review of this lovely meal!

A modern, cozy atmosphere where the floor-to-ceiling window view does it all

From the alley near Galleria Department Store, this spot gives off such a clean, exotic vibe.

Once inside, soft natural light pours in through the wide floor-to-ceiling windows, and the leafy tree view makes it such a perfect atmosphere for a date 🌳✨

It gets very popular on weekends and at evening peak hours, so if you want a special-occasion meal or a window seat, I recommend arriving at opening time or making a reservation in advance!

What makes this place truly special is that you can choose your own pasta noodles! There are a whopping 12 fresh and dried noodle types, so you can customize your dish to your taste.

When you can’t decide, the menu helpfully lists a recommended noodle number, so it’s easy to simply order that one 👍🏻

That day, I ordered the pasta set and it was so filling! The set comes with a fresh salad, warm Bushman bread, and silky soup all at once, which made for such a satisfying start 🥹 The bread is delicious on its own, but dipping it lightly in the fresh cream served alongside it makes it practically melt in your mouth...

Bacon Cacio e Pepe with noodle No. 6

This is a rich pasta with nutty cheese, fragrant pepper, and the savory depth of bacon.

Maybe because it is an authentic carbonara-style pasta made without cream, it wasn’t greasy at all—the peppery kick and deep cheese flavor were absolutely fantastic.

I especially chose noodle No. 6, and it was so springy and chewy—the texture was seriously incredible ㅠㅠ

How was the fire-grilled chopped steak pizza?

It’s a BBQ-style pizza piled high with fire-grilled beef chuck flap, fresh arugula, and tomatoes! 🍕

The dough is made in-house too, so it is incredibly chewy, and it is loaded with big pieces of chopped steak—such amazing bite! Dip it in the garlic sauce served alongside and it’s just game over, haha.

Overall

Every dish was made with such care, and the chef’s cooking skills were seriously no joke.

It was a place where you can enjoy high-quality fresh pasta and pizza as a filling set meal at approachable prices—great value, too 💜
