Along with special menu items you do not come across every day, it has an unusual atmosphere, making it great for an outing with the kids and just right for a Palgongsan date 😉

Outdoor seating and a dog-friendly garden

Modak Texas Barbecue Palgongsan Branch has private outdoor seating as well as indoor tables. Wouldn’t it be perfect for a child’s birthday party or a family gathering while enjoying Palgongsan’s fresh air on a cool day?!

The grounds are so spacious that they are nice for a light walk after your meal, and dogs are even allowed in the outdoor garden 🤗 It is not always easy for pet owners to go out for a meal, even on a drive, so I think this is really nice.

Of course, it also has its own parking lot, so there is no need to worry about parking~

Lots of people were already eating, but Hyeonjin’s family made a reservation just in case, so we were seated right away without waiting.

A staff member asked whether it was our first visit, gave us a brief explanation, and then we took our time choosing from the menu.

Ordering the two-person Texas platter and rosé ravioli

Since this is a barbecue specialist in Dong-gu, Daegu, I debated between the Memphis set and Texas set. But my little daughter wanted to try pasta too, so we ordered the two-person Texas platter set and the new rosé ravioli pasta!

Modak Texas Barbecue also offers birthday events, and it has a separate lunch menu, so it seems like a nice place to visit for weekday lunch too 😋

While we were eating the nachos served as an appetizer, the two-person Texas platter we ordered came out in no time~

The Texas platter set is the Memphis platter set without the spare ribs, but it looks like more than enough food for two, right? The rosé ravioli pasta my little daughter wanted also arrived 🤗

Tender smoked barbecue and a refillable self-service bar

We started with the barbecue, the main attraction. You could tell how carefully and slowly it had been smoked—the meat was so tender that it pulled apart without even using a knife, and naturally there was no gaminess or unpleasant meat smell at all 🤤

Meat tastes so much better with carbs, doesn’t it...? We tried it with the dinner rolls included in the set, and with tortillas too.

At most restaurants, you have to pay extra for sides such as tortillas, but Modak Texas Barbecue has a self-service bar. I loved being able to refill not only sauces, but also tortillas, coleslaw, and pico de gallo!

With the rosé ravioli generously filled with cheese and shrimp, too, doesn’t this look like a perfectly satisfying special family meal?
