The weather's been so bright and clear lately!! So I wanted some healing time looking out at the sea in Songjeong, and headed to Suwolgyeonghwa.
How many cars fit in Suwolgyeonghwa's parking?
Parking below the café is double parking that fits about 7-8 cars, which is pretty tight given the size of the building ㅠㅠ. That said, there are plenty of paid lots nearby! Just keep in mind those other lots don't offer any parking support.

The café's name means 'a moon reflected in water, a flower reflected in a mirror,' so maybe that's why the entrance actually has a full moon reflected in water shaped into a mirror!!
Past the mirror entrance on the 3rd floor and up to the 4th floor is where you order your drinks. Suwolgyeonghwa, this café in Songjeong, Busan, has even earned two Blue Ribbons!
The interior lives up to the name too — instead of your typical chain café look, it leans into a hanok or traditional teahouse feel, so the atmosphere felt a bit different.
How often does the Songjeong beach train pass the window?
Out the windows at Suwolgyeonghwa you get a refreshing view down over Songjeong Beach, and right out front, the beach train passes roughly every 15 minutes. There's a QR beach train timetable at the tables, so you can check it and time your photo while waiting for the train to go by! And honestly, once you're at Suwolgyeonghwa, the view outside the window is unmissable. It's a different kind of fun than just staring at the sea.

That day I ordered two drinks and a dessert. The drinks were hojigabae and hyeonwolhoji, and the dessert was dalbodre-sangja!
What does hojigabae taste like?
Hojigabae is Suwolgyeonghwa's signature menu item, so I was curious and ordered it?! It combines hojicha (roasted green tea), milk, and espresso, and it's definitely different from a regular caffe latte. Kind of like a matcha latte with an extra shot, just a bit nuttier and more bitter??.. There's soft cream on top, so at first you taste the sweetness of the cream, and once you mix it in, the flavors of hojicha and coffee come together.
Hyeonwolhoji: the menu for tasting the tea itself
The hyeonwolhoji I ordered alongside it is a drink for enjoying hojicha on its own. If hojigabae is about coffee and tea together, hyeonwolhoji is closer to the original tea. It was nice to sip slowly and take in the distinctive nutty, subtle aroma of hojicha. If you're a tea person, you might actually find this one fits the mood of Suwolgyeonghwa even better. And that day's dessert order was the dalbodre-sangja!
What's inside the dalbodre-sangja dessert box?
This is the dessert menu item that shows up most often when you search Suwolgyeonghwa. It felt like receiving a dainty, absolutely pretty tea-time tray. It's put together so you can taste a little of several desserts, and set out alongside two drinks, it looked really pretty too.

- Red bean anbutter monaka (sweet red bean butter wafer sandwich)

It felt like a traditional dessert set with a spoonful of Western flair added!! Salty, savory, and sweet items all mixed together, and I thought they went really well with tea.
Best time to get a window seat at Suwolgyeonghwa
Suwolgyeonghwa is such a well-known café in Songjeong that window seats can be tough to get during busy hours. I went at 3-4pm because I wanted to spend some relaxed time looking at the sea, and there were plenty of window seats free, so I got to enjoy it fully!! They also sell teabags for gifting, so it seems like a good option if you like the tea and want to give some to a tea-loving friend.
If you're looking for a sea-view café in Songjeong but want something a bit different from the usual coffee and cake, Suwolgyeonghwa seems like a great choice! Especially with that scene of the beach train passing by — it's so pretty!!
