Haeundae Chinese restaurant: four dishes for three adults, Bueokgan

In short

Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch is a Chinese restaurant on Dalmaji-gil in Haeundae-gu, Busan. Three adults visited and ordered beef brisket jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), seafood jjamppong rice, jjajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce) and sweet and sour pork all at once to share, and the clean, design-minded interior felt very different from a typical neighborhood Chinese restaurant. Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch works well when everyone in a group wants a different dish plus one platter to share.

Why we chose Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch on Dalmaji-gil

I was looking for a good Chinese restaurant in Haeundae and ended up visiting Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch 🍜 Three of us went together, and we ordered a variety of dishes — beef brisket jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), seafood jjamppong rice, jjajangmyeon (black bean sauce noodles), and sweet and sour pork.

How the interior differs from a neighborhood Chinese restaurant

When you think of a Chinese restaurant, you usually picture a familiar kind of atmosphere, but the moment I stepped into Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch, the interior caught my eye right away. It was clean overall but also had a stylish feel, so it felt quite different from a typical neighborhood Chinese place.

I thought it was a great place to visit on days when you want good food and a good atmosphere too. Especially if you're looking for somewhere to eat in Haeundae, this is worth considering as a Chinese restaurant option.

What three adults ordered: four dishes on one table

With three of us there, we ordered several dishes, and as each one arrived on the table it really started to feel like a proper Chinese food spread! When you go with a group, it's a shame to only try one dish, so it was great that we got to taste jjamppong, jjajangmyeon, and sweet and sour pork all in one meal.

The first dish we ordered was the beef brisket jjamppong. With brisket added to the jjamppong broth, it had a richer, nuttier flavor than a regular jjamppong.

Eating the brisket together with the noodles gave it a nice chewy texture, and it paired well with the spicy jjamppong broth.

If you like jjamppong, the beef brisket version is definitely worth trying at least once.

Spicy beef brisket jjamppong broth

Usually at a Chinese restaurant you end up choosing between jjajangmyeon and jjamppong, but since there were three of us this time, we got to order the beef brisket jjamppong too and share it.

The second dish ordered, seafood jjamppong rice

The second dish we ordered was the seafood jjamppong rice!

It was a nice change from the noodle version since you get to eat it with rice.

Being seafood jjamppong, you could really taste the seafood flavor in the broth, and eating the rice soaked in that broth made for a really filling meal.

It seems like a great dish to order when a noodle lover and a rice lover are dining together.

Jjajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce)

You can't skip jjajangmyeon at a Chinese restaurant! Mixing the glossy jjajang sauce well into the noodles gave that familiar yet still delicious combination.

Ordering it alongside a spicy dish like jjamppong was also nice since we could switch between the two.

When a group goes to a Chinese restaurant, everyone usually wants something different, but ordering a variety and sharing this time actually made the meal even more fun.

Sweet and sour pork to share

And last but not least, sweet and sour pork! It would feel incomplete without it, so we ordered that too.

Rather than just eating jjajangmyeon or jjamppong alone, adding a side of sweet and sour pork makes the meal much more substantial.

Table with jjamppong, jjajangmyeon, and sweet and sour pork together

With three of us, we ended up with a pretty generous spread — jjamppong, jjamppong rice, jjajangmyeon, and sweet and sour pork. If you're visiting with a group, I'd definitely recommend adding one extra dish like sweet and sour pork to share.
