Haenggung-dong pizza restaurant, Suwon: truffle cream pasta, Low Five

Now that fall is short, we've got to enjoy it fast, right? Here's my honest review of Low Five, a great pizza spot in Haenggung-dong that's perfect for a date.

I first visited on a friend's recommendation this past winter, and this time I went back.

Where Low Five is, opening hours, and main branch vs Sinpung branch

Low Five has two locations in Haenggung-dong plus one in Anguk. The Haenggung-dong location is the main branch. If the wait is long there, I'd recommend the Sinpung branch — it's about a five-minute walk away.

It's located right below Seongyeong Library. For parking, use the Haenggung-dong public parking lot.

Booking Low Five for 7:30pm on a Monday: was there a wait?

Inside, Low Five has tables for two and four, and with a decent number of seats, the turnover seems pretty good. I made a reservation for 7:30pm. Since it was a Monday, the wait wasn't too bad, but there was still a line up until last order. I remember visiting on a weekend this past winter and putting my name down almost right when break time ended — even then I waited over 30 minutes. If you're planning to go, I really recommend booking ahead on Catch Table!

The vibe is cozy, and if you visit during the day, sunlight pours in through the big windows and it looks really pretty. It seems like a great spot for a blind date or that butterflies-in-your-stomach early-dating stage, haha.

Cheese powder, hot sauce, and small plates are all self-serve. I liked that you can just grab what you need without having to call over a staff member. Nice touch — they even have hair ties ready.

The Low Five menu and the three dishes we ordered

Here's the menu! It's broadly divided into pizza, pasta, and sides. Take a look at what I ordered.

How does Low Five's truffle cream pasta taste?

First out was the cream pasta topped with truffle oil and an assortment of mushrooms. The cream sauce wasn't just cream — it had mushrooms mixed right into it, so it was thick and rich. Being a truffle cream pasta, the truffle aroma really came through!

Kimchi fried rice without avocado, 13,000 won

Next, the kimchi fried rice. It normally comes topped with avocado, but since I'm not a huge fan, I ordered it without — that takes ₩1,000 off. Both the pizza and the cream pasta lean pretty Western, so having the kimchi fried rice alongside made the rice go down so easily, haha. We'd both come on empty stomachs after just one meal that day, and the two of us cleared all three dishes without any trouble, haha.

The egg on top was that fluffy, cloud-like egg only a chef can pull off — not something you can make at home — and it was delicious. This wasn't kimchi fried rice that's just red for show; you could really taste the actual ingredients inside, made with care. It's not spicy and totally hits the spot for Korean tastes, so I highly recommend it as a side.

Low Five's signature corn pizza, 25,000 won

This is Low Five's signature corn pizza — topped with white truffle cream, bacon, chili shrimp, butter seasoning, and grilled corn. Each slice has the corn neatly cut for easy eating, plus shrimp and bacon, so you get to enjoy the toppings all the way through the pizza. The cheese is piled on generously, so every slice you cut stretches into long cheese pulls. It's so savory and loaded with toppings that I already want to go back for more.

Besides the corn pizza, they also have a hot pepperoni pizza, and you can even get a half-and-half of corn and hot pepperoni, so keep that in mind!

Verdict: is Low Five worth it for a Haenggung-dong date?

Low Five is the place that always comes to mind when I think of Haenggung-dong! I'd recommend it as a date-course restaurant in the neighborhood — it's not an exaggeration to call it one of Haenggung-dong's representative restaurants. If you're planning a visit, go with the corn pizza and kimchi fried rice plus a pasta of your choice for a filling, delicious, feel-good meal, then go have fun around Haenggung-dong.
