Uijeongbu ramen restaurant set: Aori’s Whereabouts Unknown

My husband always says one thing when ramen comes up: of all the ramen he has had, the most delicious and memorable was at Aori’s Whereabouts Unknown! So I had always wanted to try it~~ Then I came to Uijeongbu and found an Aori’s Whereabouts Unknown nearby, so I went straight over haha.

Outside and inside the restaurant

It is extremely close to Uijeongbu Station, so getting there is super easy. The restaurant is on the second floor of the building!

The inside really felt like I was on a trip to Japan. It is set up with individual solo seats, making it perfect for eating alone; if you are looking for a solo meal in Uijeongbu, I think you can eat really comfortably here. There is also a compartment at each seat for your belongings!

It had been a while since I had eaten alone without my baby, and I wanted to savor it properly—this was exactly the place I had been looking for. But there were lots of couples and friends there too! They are solo seats, but the seats are right beside each other and the partitions do not go all the way across, so it looked like you could come together, comfortably enjoy your own meals, and chat too.

Maybe because I went early, there was no one there at first, but when I left it was almost full!! I was glad I had come early.

There were side dishes alongside these mains. These days, I actually like it when there are just signature dishes and a neat, simple menu like this—it means less agonizing over what to order.

You order at the kiosk, then sit down and place your receipt on the seat. They will see it and bring your food over!

They also have a receipt event! Getting a complimentary ajitama (marinated soft-boiled egg), which is so delicious, is such a treat—join in and get the freebie haha.

Adding Sauce and Garlic to the Aori Ramen Set

I was going to be on solo baby duty today, so I needed to eat something filling and ordered the Aori Ramen set.

The Aori Ramen set came with Aori Ramen, soy sauce egg rice, and a drink. First, the Aori Ramen!

Can you almost smell it just from the photo? The ramen broth was so deep and savory, with flame-kissed chashu and the special ajitama egg!

Even while taking photos, I wanted to eat it quickly haha. It truly warms you from the inside... >.< It has been so long since I went to Japan, but if I miss it, I think I can just go to Aori’s Whereabouts Unknown instead,,

This was the soy sauce egg rice, and it was nice and filling to have alongside everything as a side!

Three secret recipes you can only find at Aori! I saw the soy sauce egg rice and Aori sauce, but I was disappointed not to see nira kimchi (garlic chive kimchi). Looking now, I see it was sold separately on the side menu! At ₩1,000, it is a little happy indulgence haha.

I made very good use of the Aori sauce. I enjoyed the pure flavor at first, then added the Aori sauce halfway through; the spicy kick made it even tastier! I was timid with it at first, then kept adding more as I ate haha.

For Koreans, of course? Garlic haha. They give you garlic too, so you can add it to suit your taste. I added a little, but the Aori sauce was so good that I added lots of that instead lol.

The self-service bar has danmuji (yellow pickled radish), so you can help yourself. They also provide hair ties for women who forgot theirs!

If you are looking for a great ramen spot or a restaurant for eating alone in Uijeongbu, I do not think there is anywhere better than here! I recommend Aori’s Whereabouts Unknown, the ramen restaurant near Uijeongbu Station haha.
