Geumcheon Japanese restaurant lunch sharing set for two: Gapposo
In short
Gapposo is a Japanese restaurant in Geumcheon, Seoul. My husband and I chose the lunch sharing set with kaisendon and unagidon, plus sashimi, pepper karaage, and hot udon. Verdict: a generous, satisfying choice for both lunch and dinner.

A date at Gapposo, a Japanese restaurant in Gasan Digital Complex
Gapposo (갓포소), a well-known Japanese restaurant in Gasan Digital Complex. It is apparently already famous among workers at the nearby digital complex, so I went on a date there with my husband.
Monday–Friday hours are 11:30–22:00, with a break from 15:00–17:00 and last orders at 21:30. Saturday hours are 11:00–20:00, with last orders at 19:30, and it is regularly closed every Sunday. Parking is available, and you can use the restroom in the building.

All the waiting instructions show just how popular it is! No saving seats, and everyone in your party must enter together. There is especially a lot of waiting at weekday lunch, so keep that in mind before visiting! We all agree that a workers’ lunch spot is the real deal, right? It was my first time in Gasan Digital Complex, and my anticipation was already through the roof before eating.

The interior was very neat, and my first impression was that the staff were incredibly kind. Thanks to the wooden-lattice interior, people outside could not see straight into the dining room, so we could eat comfortably! Sometimes it feels strangely awkward when you can feel people outside watching you eat, you know? 😂

There is even a premium bento menu for workaholics who do not have time to eat out! If your boyfriend or girlfriend is working late and you bring them a premium bento for a late-night meal, I think there would be tears of joy for real... Try it, try it, right away!

Choosing the lunch sharing set for two
Gapposo separates its lunch and dinner menus. Since the two of us visited for lunch, we picked the kaisendon (seafood rice bowl) and unagidon (eel rice bowl) from the sharing sets for two. We had come intending to order kaisendon and unagidon individually, but both happened to be included in one sharing set, so there was no need to hesitate 👍

The sharing meal began almost like omakase! First came porridge. Soothing our stomachs with warm porridge before the meal.

The sashimi of the day. Getting to try raw fish at this price, too! The price difference from ordering everything individually is not even that big, so definitely pick the sharing set, everyone... Such an amazing deal... ✨️

I piled on wasabi properly and ate it, and it was delicious. The freshness and quality were great 👩🍳

Pepper karaage and bento kaisendon
The fried chicken my husband and I ate while raving about it. The chicken itself was substantial, but this spicy, tangy, sweet sauce was the real kick. I do not usually like fried foods that much, but Gapposo’s pepper karaage has a thin coating, so it is not greasy, and that sauce makes it so easy to keep eating. We did not leave even a tiny bit behind—we cleaned the plate!
And then, the long-awaited kaisendon. Unusually, it came in a bento box 🍱

It had the sashimi of the day plus an even wider variety of seafood. Those shrimp and eel in particular were seriously tasty. I cannot eat salmon roe if it smells fishy, but it was fresh, so I enjoyed it.
They also give you a little soy-sauce pitcher, and you should lightly brush the sashimi with soy sauce before eating. Little touches like this make the meal even more fun! 👍

Teriyaki unagidon and a hot udon finish
The unagidon I had been looking forward to so much before coming! Personally, I prefer Japanese-style grilled eel brushed with teriyaki sauce like this over plain grilled eel, and it had already passed the test just by looking at it... 🫶

The eel rice bowl does not need extra soy sauce. The rice already has sauce over it, so just add a little wasabi and dig in.

The most delicious bite in the world. The eel was large and thick, yet so tender that it just melted in my mouth... Melting, I tell you...

We finished with piping-hot udon! Why does it never taste like this when I make instant udon at home? As expected, every noodle in the world tastes best when someone else cooks it for you!!!

The rice underneath the kaisendon and unagidon was different! The kaisendon had vinegared rice that goes with sashimi, while the unagidon had rice drizzled with soy-based seasoning. There was more rice than we expected, so my husband and I even left a little...? It was a more than sufficient amount.

Gapposo’s menu quality was so good that it made me want to come back for drinks at dinner! I can officially call it a great restaurant for both lunch and dinner. Everyone on staff was so kind that we left Gapposo feeling good until the very end.
