Imgane Nakji Bossam is an octopus-and-bossam Korean restaurant on Indong 26-gil in Gumi, Gyeongbuk. The Imgane Han-sang set costs 17,000 won per person and pairs flame-grilled octopus stir-fry, ordered at the medium (regular) spice level, with herbal boiled pork, plus porridge, side dishes and one free self-serve egg per person. A Gumi Indong lunch at Imgane Nakji Bossam

Today I'm bringing a lunch spot I'd recommend in Gumi Indong — Imgane Nakji Bossam! I ordered the Imgane Han-sang set, which let me enjoy both octopus stir-fry and boiled pork together, and it was great. Here's my full review after a very tasty meal!

The big Imgane Nakji Bossam sign made it easy to find! It says right on the sign that it's a nakji bossam (octopus and boiled pork) specialty restaurant, so you know exactly what to expect at a glance.

Inside Imgane Nakji Bossam: baby chairs and barley tea

Inside, Imgane Nakji Bossam was bigger and cleaner than I expected. There were wide tables and comfortable chairs, with generous spacing between tables, making it easy to eat comfortably.

The overall warm wood-tone interior made for a cozy vibe. It seemed great for a work lunch with colleagues, and also fine for a family meal out.

They even have baby chairs ready for little guests.

The basic water is barley tea, served in a neat bottle, which somehow made it feel like a fancy Korean restaurant haha.

Self-serve eggs: one free per person at Imgane Nakji Bossam

The self-serve egg corner caught my eye — one free egg per person!! It said extra eggs are ₩500, but getting one egg free (which pairs so well with the octopus stir-fry) and being able to cook it yourself to whatever doneness you like was really nice haha.

What comes with the 17,000-won Imgane Han-sang set, and picking a spice level

Looking at the Imgane Nakji Bossam menu, there was a wide range of meal dishes and anju (drinking snacks). What I ordered was the Imgane Han-sang (for one), ₩17,000. It's a set with grilled octopus stir-fry and herbal boiled pork together, so I loved being able to try both in one meal. The octopus stir-fry also lets you choose spice level — mild, spicy, etc. — and I went with mild to play it safe!

While waiting for the food, the basic side dishes were laid out. Bean sprout muchim, japchae, various namul (seasoned vegetable) side dishes, and — since it was summer — a cold soup came along too.

A porridge came out as a sort of appetizer, and it arrived with dried seaweed flakes and sesame oil on the side to mix in! It was perfect for waking up the appetite 👍✨

Here's the Imgane Han-sang I ordered. This is the two-person-sized version, and the portion looked just right!

From the spicy grilled octopus stir-fry to the tender herbal boiled pork, cabbage and side dishes, it all came out generously on one plate. Just looking at it felt satisfying — a hearty Korean spread ❤️🤤

A large bowl of rice came out too, so you can mix in the namul from the basic spread to your taste. I love seaweed flakes, so being able to sprinkle on as much as I wanted was a nice touch haha.

How do the medium-spice grilled octopus and herbal boiled pork taste?

The grilled octopus stir-fry at Imgane Nakji Bossam had really soft, delicious octopus. I mixed it up well and dug into a big bite. Octopus can sometimes turn out chewy, but the octopus I had that day was nice and tender — very satisfying. I chose mild spice level, and it was pleasantly spicy without being overwhelming — really tasty!

A bite combining boiled pork and octopus stir-fry

The boiled pork had a really nice tender, soft texture. Each bite chewed easily and tasted great. Pairing the spicy grilled octopus stir-fry with the mild, tender herbal boiled pork made for a really good combo haha.

Verdict: Imgane Nakji Bossam for work lunches and family meals out

This visit to Imgane Nakji Bossam left me satisfied with both the food and the atmosphere. The grilled octopus stir-fry had soft octopus and let you choose your spice level, which I liked, and the herbal boiled pork's tender texture was great. Best of all, the Imgane Han-sang let me enjoy octopus stir-fry and boiled pork in one go. It's a spacious, clean restaurant, so it seems great to bring coworkers for an Indong lunch, and it would also suit anyone looking for a family dinner spot. If you want to enjoy delicious octopus stir-fry and boiled pork together in Gumi Indong, give Imgane Nakji Bossam a visit!
