In short
Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui is an old-school grilled pork bone tavern right outside Exit 11 of Euljiro 3-ga Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. On a Friday evening two friends shared the small charcoal-grilled pork bones (39,000 won) with janchi guksu (banquet noodle soup, 8,900 won), a rice ball (5,000 won) and lemon draft beer (6,000 won), and the charcoal aroma, spicy sauce and rice ball combination stood out. After debating where to go, we ended up at Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui, a place with a real old-school tavern feel, just a 1-second walk from Exit 11 of Euljiro3(sam)-ga Station.

Inside Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui: old-school Euljiro tavern mood
It was a Friday evening and the place was really packed.

True to its reputation as a grilled bones spot in Euljiro, the interior has that old-school tavern feel, but the open kitchen keeps things looking tidy too — a nice bonus. The staff were busily preparing food, and it was fun to watch while waiting for our order.

The wall along the stairs to the second floor was covered in celebrity autographs. Looks like a lot of famous people have visited — must really be the real deal.
Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui menu and prices

The menu board had that same old-fashioned charm. We ordered the small grilled bones, jachi guksu, rice balls, and a lemon draft beer.
What side dishes come with the pork bones?

The side dishes that came with the grilled bones were tasty too. The cubed radish kimchi and cabbage salad were both good, and they did a great job of balancing out the spiciness of the grilled bones.
How did the charcoal-grilled pork bones, janchi guksu and rice ball taste?
Between the two of us, we ordered the small charcoal-grilled bones for ₩39,000, jachi guksu for ₩8,900, rice balls for ₩5,000, and a lemon draft beer for ₩6,000.

The pork bones are charcoal-grilled for that smoky flavor, then coated in a spicy-sweet house sauce, and you can adjust the spice level to your taste.
The charcoal-grilled bones, coated generously in the spicy sauce, looked so appetizing that I couldn't wait to dig in. Eating the meat with grilled green onions was so good.

The grilled bones had a subtle smoky aroma with the spicy sauce soaked in just right, and there was real fun in picking up the big bones and gnawing the meat off — I made sure to get every last bit of meat clinging to the bone.

The meat was soft and chewy — genuinely delicious.

The rice balls, shaped into cute round balls and coated with plenty of seasoned seaweed flakes, were amazing eaten together with the grilled bones. Honestly, the combo of spicy grilled bones and rice balls is the best.

And of course, you can't skip a cold beer, right?
The lemon beer cut right through the spiciness of the grilled bones — such a great pairing.

The jachi guksu came out refreshingly cold, with soft noodles in a clean anchovy broth.

Eating it alongside the spicy grilled bones cleansed the palate nicely — a great match. Stirring in a bit of the seasoning sauce to make it spicier gave it a whole different charm and made it even more enjoyable.
