Jamsil Station pork belly restaurant with staff grilling: Hongkyojip
In short
Hongkyojip Jamsil is a samgyeopsal (pork belly) and Korean BBQ restaurant in Bangi-dong, Songpa, Seoul, about 521m from Exit 10 of Jamsil Station, where staff grill the meat from start to finish as a premium grilling service costing 30,000 won per table. For a family gathering with a cousin visiting from the US, the writer ordered the Gyo Set for 3 at 99,000 won plus marbled samgyeopsal, premium hangjeongsal (pork jowl) and seasoned beef short rib at 19,000 won each. Because nobody has to watch the grill, Hongkyojip Jamsil works well for family meals and work dinners.

Samgyeopsal (pork belly) in Bangi-dong|A great grilled meat spot near Jamsil for group dinners. My cousin came to visit from the US after a long time, so this time we went all out on a proper family meat meal 🥩❤️

I was trying to figure out where to take my cousin from the US, and I thought a place with great meat that grills it for you would be perfect for relaxed conversation while eating. That's how I landed on Hongkyojip Jamsil 😊

Since it's a popular spot, we booked ahead through Naver, and our table was already set up when we arrived — it put me in a good mood from the start hahaha

Inside Hongkyojip Jamsil: clean rooms and well-spaced tables
The first thing I loved as soon as we walked in was how clean the place looked overall ✨ The tables were also spaced out generously, so it felt calm and comfortable even with a lot of customers!

It was great for chatting with family while eating, and it also seemed like a solid choice for group visits.

Especially with a separate room available, it seems perfect for anyone looking for a spot for a work dinner or family gathering 👍🏻

There were so many customers when we visited, so I'd definitely recommend booking ahead!
What side dishes come with the meat?
As soon as we sat down at Hongkyojip Jamsil, the banchan (side dishes) came out 😋 We got aged kimchi, white kimchi, mountain garlic leaves, bracken fern, ssamjang (dipping sauce), pickled onions and peppers, spicy bean sprout salad, salt, and salad.
It was nice having such a variety of side dishes that paired well with the meat 🥬 Plus, there was a self-service corner where you could easily refill anything that ran low, which made it even more satisfying.

They say everything is prepared carefully with fresh ingredients daily, and I loved that touch 😊
Is the 30,000-won premium grilling service worth it?
One of the biggest reasons I chose Hongkyojip was the premium grilling service 🔥 It's ₩30,000 per table, and a staff member grills the meat for you from start to finish!

We booked this service in advance, and it was genuinely so convenient hahaha. The staff member stayed right by us, kept an eye on the meat, and plated it up nicely once it was cooked perfectly, so all we had to do was eat and talk 😂
Especially when meeting family after a long time, having someone else handle the grilling was so much better than being distracted with cooking duties.
Gyo Set for 3 (99,000 won): what's in it and how it tastes

We started off ordering the Gyo Set for 3. It comes with five-layer pork belly + pork neck + skirt meat + soy meat sauce, so you get to try several cuts at once 🥩

The staff member grilled each piece perfectly, and wow... meat really does taste better when someone who knows what they're doing grills it for you ㅠㅠ My favorite was the five-layer pork belly!
The skin part got grilled crispy while the inside stayed juicy and moist 🤤 Since the skin was still attached, you got that chewy texture too — it was genuinely so good ㅠㅠ
It was delicious wrapped in mountain garlic leaves, delicious with the spicy bean sprout salad, and delicious dipped in the soy meat sauce with a little kick — the soju just kept going down hahaha 🍻
The whole grilled green onion skirt meat was tasty too — the green onions grilled alongside turned sweet and paired perfectly with the meat!

The pork neck also grilled up nice and chewy instead of dry, so the whole set was satisfying overall.
Adding marbled samgyeopsal, hangjeongsal and seasoned beef short rib
We enjoyed the Gyo Set so much we immediately ordered more hahaha. Marbled samgyeopsal is ₩19,000 per serving, premium hangjeongsal (pork jowl) is ₩19,000 per serving.

The staff member grilled these for us from start to finish too 🔥

The portion sizes were quite generous — the marbled samgyeopsal was savory and juicy, and the hangjeongsal had that perfect chewy texture, both delicious.

My niece wanted beef too, so we also ordered the seasoned beef short rib for ₩19,000. It was grilled tender in a sweet marinade, so it was easy for the kid to enjoy too 😊
Drink prices at Hongkyojip Jamsil, including a Crush soju-beer mix
Soju at Hongkyojip Jamsil is ₩5,500 and beer is ₩6,000. Since it was a family reunion after a long time, drinks were a must hahaha. They also had my favorite Crush, so I went for soju-beer mixes 🍻
While the staff grilled the meat, we sat back comfortably and chatted with my cousin and the rest of the family — time flew by without us noticing haha
Having someone else grill the meat turned out to be a bigger perk than I expected.
Would I go back to Hongkyojip Jamsil?
This time it was a family gathering, but next time I want to come with just my husband and properly try the other menu items too hahaha. My intent to revisit: 200000%!!!
Of everything I ate that day, the five-layer pork belly was my favorite! 🥹❤️ The skin part was crispy and chewy while the inside was juicy — a flavor that genuinely keeps coming back to mind.
I'm also curious about the chadolbagi doenjang sulbap (rice with soy sauce-marinated beef and soybean paste) and perilla oil makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles) I haven't tried yet hahaha. Overall, the store was clean, the tables were spaced out well, and with group seating and a private room, Hongkyojip was genuinely great for family gatherings or work dinners! Best of all, thanks to the premium grilling service, conversation never had to stop for grilling duties, which made the whole meal so much more comfortable 🥩💕
If you're looking for samgyeopsal in Bangi-dong, a spot for a work dinner near Jamsil, or a grilled meat restaurant near Jamsil Station, I recommend Hongkyojip Jamsil for great meat you can enjoy without any hassle! 😋

It gets pretty busy, so if you're planning to visit, I'd recommend booking ahead like we did haha
