In short

Eulji Baektan Ppyeogui is a grilled bone and bone soup restaurant 10 seconds on foot from Euljiro 3-ga Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. A lunchtime visit brought grilled bones (small) at ₩39,000 with extra rice, ordered at spice level 2, and the meat was tender enough to scrape off with a spoon. The 2nd floor seats around 20 people for group bookings, making it a solid pick for year-end office dinners.

📌 Grilled bones available at lunch too, and the bone soup is delicious

The weather was nice for once, so I was wandering around near my office checking out new spots when I found Baektan, a place I'd wanted to try for a while. It's famous for grilled bones, but it also serves bone soup at lunch. I went in planning to get the soup, but the table next to me was eating grilled bones... and it looked so good that I ordered it too. Here's the detailed review.

How close is it to Euljiro 3-ga Station?

It's within 10 seconds on foot from Euljiro 3-ga Station. This street is packed with good restaurants, and Baektan is one of them.

There can be a wait at lunch, so I'd recommend checking ahead (looks like everyone comes for the bone soup!!). The air conditioning is powerful, so it's great to visit on a hot day, and the ventilation inside is good so there's no lingering smell. I could eat very comfortably.

Menu and prices

The menu is as pictured, and you order via QR code. Bone soup is ₩13,000, spicy soup ₩14,000, grilled bones (small) ₩39,000. We had the grilled bones with extra rice, and next time I'm bringing a bigger group to try the soup and fried squid too... the table next to us made it look so good.

Clean interior with view of the open kitchen

Overall the place had a pretty clean vibe, and the open kitchen made it feel trustworthy. I thought there might be a smoky smell but there wasn't at all — really comfortable to eat in. The staff were kind too, which made it a pleasant place. Be sure to write a Naver receipt review, since they give you a drink! They told me in advance, so I enjoyed a zero-sugar cider with the meal. Eating this, a drink is really essential — I especially craved soju, it was tough holding back, so next time I'll come for dinner.

Watching the open-kitchen fire show

Inside, staff were prepping and cooking the bones, and it was fun just watching them work. You can even catch a bit of a fire show, which is honestly the highlight. If you're bored, you can just walk up to the kitchen and watch, haha. Grilling it like that is exactly why it turns out so tender and delicious.

Group dinners and 2nd-floor bookings

There's seating on the 2nd floor available for group bookings, and the atmosphere was just right for a work dinner. After today's visit, I'm considering recommending this place for our next office dinner! For a group of around 20, you can take over the whole 2nd floor, giving you a private feel for your own dinner — perfect for wrapping up the year. You do get tired of samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) every time, right?

Side dishes and main menu

Table of side dishes: kkakdugi, peppers, onion, and baek-kimchi

The side dishes are kkakdugi (diced radish kimchi), peppers, onion, and baek-kimchi (white, non-spicy kimchi) — the baek-kimchi tasted like it had been lightly rinsed, and it was so good I kept eating it before the main dish arrived, haha. Since the grilled bones are on the spicy side, this kind of kimchi paired really well.

How spicy is each level?

Finally, the Euljiro grilled bones I'd been curious about arrived. We ordered it at a Shin Ramyun level of spice, and it was just right. I think the mild level would be a letdown if you like spicy food, and apparently the level above ours is around Buldak Bokkeummyeon spicy, so that one would really burn. We went with level 2 and it was spot on — properly spicy and delicious.

Scallions grilled alongside the bones

And above all, scallions come grilled alongside the meat, which is the real kicker... crispy on the outside, soft inside — snip them with scissors, dab a bit of sauce on, and it's just next level.

When we ordered, they told us the meat was so tender you could just scrape it off with a spoon, and it really was true. It was genuinely soft and delicious — just scrape with a spoon or chopsticks and the meat comes right off.

Tender meat scraped off with a spoon

Even the meat itself wasn't dry at all, it was soft, which made me even more curious what the bone soup must taste like.

I got extra rice, and piling the meat on top of it was so good. Since the sauce is spicy, mixing it into the rice would be perfect too. Euljiro's grilled bones at Baektan are a great place to visit on a stressful day.

Table after finishing the grilled bones meal

After finishing the meal, I could really see why crowds flock here. It's great for group dinners and just as good for a small drinking session — give Euljiro's Baektan a try!!
