Individually wrapped hareubang sweets at Jeju duty free: Today Jeju

In short

Today Jeju is a souvenir shop inside Jeju Shilla Duty Free Shop Jeju Branch in Jeju City, selling madeleines and chocolates shaped like the dol hareubang (Jeju stone grandfather statue). On the last day of a Jeju trip, before heading to the airport, the shop's 8 dessert flavors and Jeju merchandise were easy to browse, and every piece is individually wrapped so it splits neatly into gifts. Today Jeju is a good final stop for a souvenir that still feels like Jeju.

On the last day of my Jeju trip, I stopped by Shilla Duty Free before heading to the airport and found a really nice surprise. It's a shop called 'Today Jeju,' selling desserts that are perfect as Jeju souvenirs. I'm writing this in detail since it might help anyone wondering what to grab as their final stop.

How to find Today Jeju inside Jeju Shilla Duty Free

It's located inside Jeju Shilla Duty Free Shop Jeju Branch, right next to a shop called MOCHIRON. You can spot it easily by the Today Jeju character banner standing at the entrance. Since it's inside the duty free shop, it's a really convenient stop for the last leg of your trip.

The orange color tone catches your eye right from the entrance. On the wall is Today Jeju's signature dol hareubang logo, and a lightbox ad announcing the collaboration with MOCHIRON hangs alongside it. The interior really captures Jeju vibes, and it made for good photos too.

Once inside, an orange circular display stand takes up the center of the shop. On top, dol hareubang-shaped madeleines and chocolate treats are laid out by type, and the staff kindly helped with wrapping.

Further inside, miniature dol hareubang props are displayed by color — green, purple, brown, yellow and more — so it was fun just to browse.

There's also a life-size dol hareubang statue set up, which made a great photo spot. Beside it sat a cute little tangerine tree pot, adding even more Jeju atmosphere.

Dol hareubang madeleines and chocolates in 8 flavors

Today Jeju 8-flavor dessert lineup

Today Jeju's signature product is the dol hareubang character-shaped madeleines and chocolates. The top row is chocolate-coated, with 4 flavors — chocolate, prickly pear, matcha, and Earl Grey — and the bottom row is madeleines, with carrot, black sesame, fig, and hallabong (Jeju tangerine) flavors, for 8 flavors total in one box.

Each one is shaped like a cute little dol hareubang wearing a hat, almost too cute to eat. The colors differ by flavor too — deep brown for chocolate, light green for matcha, soft pink for prickly pear — so there was a lot to enjoy just visually. They make for a pretty Jeju souvenir, and since they're individually wrapped, they're easy to share as gifts. On the circular stand inside the shop, actual samples of each flavor were displayed one by one on clear stands, which was nice since you could check the flavor by eye before buying.

Today Jeju T-shirts and eco bag merchandise

On one side of the shop, they also sell goods like 'I ❤ JEJU' T-shirts and eco bags, so it could be good for anyone wanting to grab more than just dessert souvenirs.

What was good and what fell short at Today Jeju

  • The dol hareubang character desserts really deliver a Jeju feel.
  • 8 flavors come in one box, so you get to try a variety.
  • Being inside the duty free shop makes it easy to fit into your last-day itinerary.
  • Individual wrapping makes them great for gift-giving.

The shop is located deep inside the duty free store, so first-time visitors might have a bit of trouble finding it. I wish there had been a bigger sign near the entrance to guide people in.

Jeju souvenirs worth grabbing on your last day

This was a great shop to stop by on the way to the airport on the last day of my Jeju trip. The cute dol hareubang-shaped madeleines and chocolates were solid quality, whether as a gift or as a Jeju souvenir. I'd love to stop by again on my next Jeju trip and pick some up.
