Euljiro restaurant for a date: Pyu Euljiro’s mackerel pasta

This was the day we spent time around Gyeongbokgung, then headed to Euljiro for dinner.

A spacious, quiet new Western restaurant in Euljiro

This is a newly opened Western restaurant in Euljiro. Apparently, it is as large as 80 pyeong. Whether it is a café or restaurant, I love places with high ceilings or plenty of space, and I liked that the tables were so far apart that we could not hear conversations from the next table—it felt nice and quiet.

Ordering charcoal-grilled octopus and Spanish mackerel pasta

From the menu, we ordered the signature octopus with romesco and the Spanish mackerel pasta!

Spicy romesco and tender octopus

The spicy romesco sauce went so well with the tender, charcoal-grilled octopus,

and the white wine we had alongside it was a great match too (!)

Would the Spanish mackerel pasta taste fishy?

And the Spanish mackerel pasta was not fishy at all. They said the mackerel was marinated, and the flesh was tender and came away easily. More than anything, I had worried about a fishy smell, but its gently spicy flavor was clean and really nice.

Recommended for blind dates and dinner dates

Since it has not been open long, everything was neat and fresh. The interior is pretty too, so I would recommend it for a blind date or a dinner date (!)

In fact, the table next to us seemed to be on a blind date the entire time (^^)

We had a delicious meal and headed out. It is the kind of place that would be worth keeping in mind when you have a dinner plan in Euljiro. Recommended (!)
