Seogwipo café with house-made lemon tea: Forest Jeongbang

I was looking for a Seogwipo café to rest at after seeing Jeongbang Waterfall, and ended up at Forest Jeongbang. You can see both the forest and the sea at once, and it's great to visit when the weather's nice like it has been lately. Where is Forest Jeongbang, and how far is the walk from Jeongbang Waterfall?

Forest Jeongbang is located at 9 Chilsimni-ro 214beon-gil. From the Jeongbang Waterfall ticket booth and parking lot, you can get there in about 1-2 minutes on foot, following the walking path toward Sojeongbang Waterfall and the Kal Hotel. If you're taking the bus, get off at the Jeongbang Waterfall stop — it's about a 5-minute walk from there.

There's also a dedicated parking lot right next to the café! The parking space was pretty generous, which I liked. Even beginner drivers should be able to park comfortably.

Inside floors 1 and 2: ocean-view windows and the terrace

Forest Jeongbang is a large Seogwipo café spread across two floors. The interior was spacious so it never felt cramped, and beyond the second-floor floor-to-ceiling windows, the Seogwipo sea stretched out in the distance — such a healing atmosphere! You can choose between the indoor ocean view or the outdoor terrace depending on your taste, and since dogs are welcome, it's a good spot for a trip with your pet too!

Forest Jeongbang menu and prices

What I ordered: the Udo peanut latte for 7,500 won, house-made lemon tea for 6,000 won, and Valrhona choco rice cake for 7,500 won. The menu ranged from basic coffee to lattes, teas, and signature drinks. I liked that there were a lot of drinks you can only get at Forest Jeongbang!

Desserts weren't limited to cake either — there were sandwiches, madeleines, croffles, and other options that pair well with a drink. From light snacks to more filling options, it was nice being able to choose based on what time I visited.

There's also a nice light walking path behind the café. The view back there really stuck with me — if you visit, make sure to check it out too!

How the Udo peanut latte, lemon tea and Valrhona chocolate rice cake tasted

Udo peanut latte, 7,500 won

With the first sip of the Udo peanut latte, I could taste the rich, nutty flavor of peanuts. Compared to a regular latte, the peanut flavor took center stage rather than the coffee taste. As I kept drinking it, it almost felt like a peanut caramel turned into a drink. Both the nutty and sweet flavors came through together, so it was nice to sip slowly like a dessert.

House-made lemon tea, 6,000 won

The house-made lemon tea made my mouth feel refreshed and clean the moment I drank it. After walking around sightseeing, I was craving something cool and crisp, and this hit the spot perfectly! The Udo peanut latte was nutty and sweet, while the lemon tea was refreshing — the combination worked really well!

Valrhona chocolate rice cake, 7,500 won

The chocolate flavor in the Valrhona choco rice cake was much richer than I expected. There was plenty of chocolate cream inside, so even one bite gave you a proper sugar boost. I was worried the rice cake base might be dry, but it was moist and soft, easy to eat.

The rich chocolate cream and soft cake went really well together, so I enjoyed it all the way to the last bite! That said, the chocolate flavor is quite intense, so it'll suit people who like sweet cakes more than plain, subtle desserts. Is Forest Jeongbang worth a stop in Seogwipo?

Today I introduced Forest Jeongbang, a Seogwipo café with a beautiful ocean view. Being close to Jeongbang Waterfall made it a great place to rest before or after sightseeing, and the ocean view in the distance really stuck with me. It's easy to combine with nearby attractions, and having its own parking lot makes it convenient to visit.
