Gogigupneunsaramdeul Sharosu-gil: a Korean BBQ restaurant near Seoul National University Station
Here's my visit to Gogigupneunsaramdeul Sharosu-gil for a meat dinner near Seoul National University Station! There are so many BBQ places around there that I was torn on where to go for dinner.

This is my review of a verified Sharosu-gil favorite with a whopping 6,347 reviews ✨️

I was walking around Sharosu-gil and the overwhelming number of reviews convinced me to go in — it's a BBQ place where you can enjoy everything from pork belly to pork ribs, so the two of us ate really well haha.
Gogigupneunsaramdeul apparently started as a continuation of a butcher shop called 'Hanyang Livestock' that the owners' parents ran at Nakseongdae Alley Market since 1995, and you can really tell — the quality of the meat is no joke 😄

Prices: 16,900 won all-you-can-eat for 3 cuts, 48,500 won couple set
They cut out the middle distribution steps to offer good-quality meat at reasonable prices, so you can enjoy delicious meat cheaply! For reference, the low-temperature aged 3-type all-you-can-eat pork is ₩16,900 per person!!! These days a basic meal costs at least ₩12,000, so all-you-can-eat meat for ₩16,900 is seriously amazing haha.

The two of us ordered the ₩48,500 couple set and while eating we also added a serving of pork skin. (The pork skin was genuinely delicious!!)
Being able to eat as a set without ordering everything separately made it a great choice for a date-night meat dinner too.

How the charcoal-grilled couple set meat tastes
Meat grilled over charcoal really is different from the aroma alone haha.

As it browned on the grill with the charcoal aroma added, it just kept going down without any greasiness!

The basic side dishes were generous too, and there were lots of different pickles and sauces to go with the meat, which was nice.
And egg soufflé and doenjang stew (soybean paste soup) came as standard, which was perfect for having a full meal alongside the meat 🧡
It was a day I really wanted to enjoy the meat itself properly, and I got to eat genuinely high-quality meat until I was satisfied 🫶

The meat itself was so good it just couldn't go wrong!!

Corn cheese and pickles from the self-bar, plus the marinated pork sauce
Eating it with the accompanying sauces and pickles the staff explained meant the meat kept going down endlessly without any greasiness haha.
When any side dish ran low, I could just go to the self-bar, where there was even corn cheese, so I could eat without hesitation.
There was actual cheese inside the corn cheese, which was next-level haha. Apparently this place puts a lot of care into the seasoned charcoal-grilled sauce too — after researching various seasonings, they made a pork rib sauce simmered with several ingredients and herbal medicine, then aged it, so if you like seasoned meat, this is worth trying too (the seasoned pork skin was also amazing).

Finishing with an extra serving of pork skin
It felt like a shame to just end after the meat, so we added a serving of pork skin! (By the way, pork skin is free right now as a semester-start event haha.)

Even though we were already pretty full, pork skin turned out to be a whole different story haha.

Thanks to the chewy texture it worked well as a finishing dish, and grilling it over charcoal really brought out its nutty flavor.

The soy sauce the pork skin was cured in was insane 😓❣️ The location near Seoul National University Station and Sharosu-gil also makes it great for a date dinner, and the portions and price are unstressful even for a group meat dinner.

Is Gogigupneunsaramdeul Sharosu-gil good for a date or a group dinner?
They even give you complimentary yogurt after the meal!! Being close to Seoul National University Station means lots of students come here, and touches like this really stand out (brings back memories of being broke as a student, ugh).
If you're looking for a Sharosu-gil favorite or a spot for a group dinner near Seoul National University Station, you genuinely won't regret it haha. On a day when charcoal-grilled meat was calling my name near Seoul National University Station, I filled up generously with the couple set and topped it off with pork skin at Gogigupneunsaramdeul Sharosu-gil. If you're looking for a beef or pork spot near Seoul National University Station Station and love charcoal grilling, I really recommend Gogigupneunsaramdeul Sharosu-gil. It was so cheap for how much we ate that I was genuinely surprised ✨️‼️
