Gwangalli pizza restaurant from the Jeonpo Pickles owners: Extra Mile

Bringing you a review of Extra Mile, a pizza restaurant everyone's talking about in Gwangalli 🍕 The moment I heard it was the third restaurant from the owners of Jeonpo Pickles and Free Will Pizza, I couldn't not go — so off I went right away.

Both of their other places are already famous, so I headed over curious what a third spot would be like. I brought plenty of photos in case they're useful for anyone looking for a new pizza place in Gwangalli.

Where is Extra Mile in Gwangalli?

Extra Mile is at 11 Suyeong-ro 554beon-gagil, Suyeong-gu, Busan, on the 1st floor. It's 461 meters from Exit 5 of Gwangan Station — an easy walk.

If you're coming from Gwangalli Beach, it's easier to walk toward Gwangan Station. By bus, get off near Gwangan Station or the Gwangalli Beach stops and walk from there. If you're driving, just search 'Extra Mile' in your navigation and it'll pop right up.

Last order is 8:00 PM. It's on the first floor of the building so it wasn't hard to find at all. The white-toned exterior with wood window frames really stands out even from down the alley. It's tucked in the alley near Gwangan-dong Ssangyong Yega Ocean and the Gwangnam police substation, so it fits naturally into a Gwangalli outing.

What is the dining room at Extra Mile like?

The interior of Extra Mile has a wood-tone design that feels comfortable. The kitchen is open, and I loved how neatly the dishes were arranged on the shelves.

The lighting is soft too, so it's great for photos. The tables are spaced generously, so you can chat comfortably without worrying about the next table over. Even on a weekday evening, the place was nearly full — you could really feel how popular it is.

Each table has a cute coloring sheet laid out, so there was zero chance of getting bored while waiting for the pizza haha.

What is on the menu at Extra Mile?

Pizza at Extra Mile starts at ₩26,000, and half-and-half is available. Pasta is ₩18,000, sides are ₩12,000.

• Birria Taco: beef, cilantro salsa, sour cream
• Pasta ₩18,000: white ragu / peanut butter / tomato / bisque cream
• Sides ₩12,000: romesco & roasted vegetables / house salad
• Budweiser draft ₩5,000

The set for 2 (1 pizza + 1 pasta) is ₩42,000, and the set for 3-4 (1 pizza + 2 pasta + 1 side) is ₩68,000, so it's easy to pick based on your group size.

I picked the bird drawing and the pizza drawing to color in, and it was weirdly absorbing (?). They had crayons ready too, so it's perfect for a little healing time with a partner or friends. The staff were friendly as well, so the wait was never boring.

What we ordered: hot honey pepperoni and birria taco half-and-half

We ordered the hot honey pepperoni + birria taco half-and-half pizza with a Budweiser draft. One half had pepperoni with a sweet-spicy sauce and marshmallow-like ricotta dotted on top, and the other half was piled with cilantro, salsa, sour cream, and crunchy tortilla chips.

Getting two completely different flavors on one pizza made it feel so much more worth it.

The crust wasn't thick but had a nice chew, so we polished off two slices each no problem. The birria taco side especially was a combo I'd never tried before — the fresh cilantro and sour cream cut through any richness, and I kept reaching for more.

Both halves had such distinct personalities that I was glad we went half-and-half. It paired so well with the Budweiser draft that I almost ordered another glass.

Tips for visiting Extra Mile on a weekday evening

• I'd recommend going half-and-half so you can try two flavors at once
• Use the table coloring sheets to pass the time while you wait
• Last order is an early 8:00 PM, so plan your evening with some buffer
• It pairs perfectly with a Gwangalli stroll, route-wise
• There can be a wait on weekend evenings, so going a bit early is recommended
• Great for a date too — the vibe is nice and the staff are friendly, so it's an easy, comfortable visit

The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was great, so I'd strongly recommend this as a date spot. If you liked Jeonpo Pickles or Free Will Pizza, Extra Mile will definitely be your thing too. Next time I want to go back and try the pasta and sides as well!
