Gwangalli pet-friendly Indian restaurant: tandoori chicken, Bollywood

In short

Bollywood Indian Restaurant is a pet-friendly curry restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Gaemijip building behind Gwangalli Beach in Suyeong, Busan. On a date visit, the order was half a tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala curry, naan, mango lassi and beer: the tandoori chicken arrived crisp outside and juicy inside with fries on the side, and the tomato-based curry was creamy but refreshing. Between the food and the exotic interior, Bollywood is a 200% would-return spot.

Today I'm introducing a special Indian restaurant that keeps the deep traditional flavors of Indian cooking while making it approachable for everyone. It's Bollywood Indian Restaurant, a lunch spot in Gwangalli that's also pet-friendly. Shall we take a look together?

Where is Bollywood, and how far is it from Gwangan Station?

Bollywood, a lunch and dinner spot for Indian food in Gwangalli, sits by the Gwangalli seaside. Come out of Gwangan Station Exit 3 or 5 and walk 500m straight toward Gwangalli Beach — the restaurant is behind Homer's Hotel. It took about 7 to 10 minutes on foot.

Turn into the alley between the CU and 7-Eleven on Gwangalli Beach-ro, and you'll find it on the 2nd floor of what locals call the 'ant house' building. Being so close to Gwangalli Beach, it's a great spot to stop by after a walk or a date.

Inside Bollywood: India-style decor, a bar table and group seating

The moment I walked in, the exotic atmosphere caught my eye — it felt like I'd been instantly transported to India. Flashy, sensory decor pieces filled every corner of the restaurant, blending with the subtle scent of spices in the air to create a captivating space. It was flashy but never overwhelming, with India's distinctive, colorful palette and classic props arranged neatly in a modern sensibility — fun just to look around at.

Above all, the laid-back mood typical of areas near Gwangalli Beach mixed strangely well with the vintage feel of traditional India, so even before eating I already felt like I was in India. The tables are spaced generously and the overall vibe is glamorous, making it perfect both for a date and for lunch or dinner with friends.

The bar table looks like a great spot for a drink. There's an Indian-style painting on the wall that felt distinctive and nice.

This is a space for group guests. Book ahead and you should be able to use the group seating.

A flashy, Indian-style painting covers the interior wall, and it really brought the mood to life.

I came here on a date and wanted to try a variety of dishes, so I ordered tandoori chicken and a curry.

Half tandoori chicken: crisp outside, juicy inside, fries on the side

Tandoori chicken is whole chicken marinated in spices and yogurt, then roasted in a tandoor. Ordering the half portion works well for two people.

The fries were cooked just right and the chicken was delicious too. It's a distinctive dish, definitely worth trying.

Chicken curry (chicken tikka masala): creamy tomato base

A bowl of chicken tikka masala curry

An Indian restaurant wouldn't feel complete without curry. I ordered the chicken curry, expecting it to be the most classic flavor — it's the signature masala curry made with an onion-tomato base. It was smooth, savory and creamy, and being tomato-based, it had a slight tang. If you want a richer, more savory taste, you could also order a curry made with butter.

Scooping chicken curry with naan

Wrapping the curry with naan is delicious too. Enjoy the chicken curry wrapped up nicely with naan.

Mango lassi and beer with the curry

Table with mango lassi and beer

What is lassi, you ask? Lassi is a traditional Indian drink made by mixing plain yogurt with fruit and iced water. I love mango, so I ordered a mango lassi. It was tangy, sweet, and so delicious.

My friend went for... a cold beer. It really pairs beautifully with the food.
