Daegu Western restaurant lunch set: bisque shrimp pasta, Etrenne

I had something to do near Seongseo and was looking for somewhere to eat when I ended up visiting Etrenne Jukjeon Branch. I'd heard for a while that there was a Western restaurant near Jukjeon Station run by someone who used to work at Outback Steakhouse. I'd heard pretty good things about it around town too, so since I was already in Seongseo, I decided to check it out in person ☺️ I usually love Western food like pasta, and this was my first time ever trying lasagna, so I was extra excited ❤️❤️ Spoiler: the food was delicious and the staff were friendly, so it was a really pleasant meal overall.

* A good thing to know before visiting Etrenne: on the 10th and 20th of every month, it's Pasta Day, when pasta menu items are ₩10,000. Great event for pasta lovers 🫢🫢 On top of that, since this place is run by the manager of the first-ever Outback Steakhouse location, my expectations for the food were already climbing before I even walked in ❤️❤️

What Etrenne Jukjeon Branch looks like inside

🌿 A cute little interior. The first thing that caught my eye as soon as I walked in was the green wall. It's not a huge restaurant overall, but it has a charming, cozy, comfortable atmosphere 🧡🧡 It's mostly 2-seat and 4-seat tables, so it'd also be great for a meal for two. It's not a big, noisy place — more of a calm spot to eat, which I really liked.

Etrenne has a wide range of Western dishes, from pasta to lasagna, steak, and risotto. If you're going with a group, the set menus are a good option.

We ordered the weekday lunch 3-person set that day ❤️❤️ The lunch set had a nice lineup and let us try several dishes at once, which I liked. On top of that, we added a Toowoomba pasta separately. I prefer ordering a variety of dishes and sharing rather than sticking to one thing, so I went with a diverse selection that day too.

A full set with pre-meal bread and salad, plus an iced americano — 👍👍 The pre-meal bread especially was so good.

How was the lasagna at Etrenne Jukjeon Branch?

🍽️ One of the dishes I was most looking forward to that day was the lasagna. Honestly, this was the first time I'd ever eaten lasagna. I eat pasta and steak often, but I'd never gone out of my way to try lasagna before. So I was a little curious how it would taste, and it turned out way better than I expected 🫢🫢

The layered noodles and sauce went together really well, and eating it with the cheese made it soft and savory too. I'd been a bit hesitant since it was a new dish for me, but I ended up enjoying it so much that the hesitation felt unnecessary 👍 If I come back, I'd want to order the lasagna again for sure ❤️❤️

Shrimp rice

🍤 The plump, chunky shrimp had a great bite, and the rice and sauce blended together nicely for an easy, satisfying meal. If you like shrimp, this is a flavor you'll enjoy without any surprises.

Bisque shrimp jjongjjong pasta

🍝 Even the name jjongjjong (chopped garlic scapes) is cute. The combination with the garlic scapes was really good. The sauce soaked well into the noodles, so every bite carried the savory depth of the shrimp, and the big chunks of shrimp made it even better.

Toowoomba pasta

🍝 The Toowoomba pasta we added on was also delicious. The thick, creamy sauce was appealing, and it paired well with the shrimp dishes. It was a good dish for a group to order one of and share around the table.

❤️ Overall, the food was clean and well made, and the staff were friendly, so it was a comfortable meal. Most memorable of all was the lasagna, which was my first time trying it and turned out to be way better than expected 🫢🫢 The shrimp dishes were satisfying with their generous portions of shrimp, and adding the Toowoomba pasta let us sample a good variety of the menu.

The place itself is on the smaller side, but that actually makes for a quiet, cozy atmosphere that would be nice for a date. It's also within walking distance of Jukjeon Station, and if you drive, using the mall's parking lot was convenient. If you're craving Western food like pasta or lasagna on a date, or looking for a good-vibe restaurant in Daegu for a date, this is worth a visit 💖💖
