Haeundae Chinese restaurant with green window views: Bueokgan Chinese

In short

Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch is a Chinese restaurant in Haeundae, Busan. I tried jajangmyeon, beef brisket jjamppong, and black-vinegar pork tangsuyuk beside its green, full-window view. A great pick for a polished meal with easy parking.

Bueokgan Chinese in Haeundae has parking within the building, so it is convenient when visiting by car. Parking is always a concern on Dalmaji-gil, so having a parking area made me feel much more at ease.

An atmosphere like a European restaurant

From the entrance, it felt much more like a polished European restaurant than a typical Chinese restaurant. It was clean and uncluttered, yet still had a lovely little charm, so it seemed perfect for either a date or a gathering.

What I especially loved was the large picture window along one side of the restaurant. Fresh green trees outside looked like a painting, and the sunlight pouring in made that leafy view beyond the glass so beautiful 💚 Eating with such an open view was healing in itself. The staff also welcomed us so warmly from beginning to end, so I could enjoy the meal in a great mood the whole time...!

Three signature dishes I ordered

Bueokgan Chinese menu

✔️I ordered three of Bueokgan's signature dishes: jajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce), beef brisket jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), and black-vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk (sweet-and-sour fried pork)..!! Once we had ordered, they brought over side plates and the basic side dishes..!

Then the jajangmyeon, beef brisket jjamppong, and black-vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk all arrived. They looked so neat and appetizing that I simply had to take photosㅠㅠ With the colorful presentation and clean plating, it was a table that pleased my eyes before I had even started eating.

Chewy noodles in BUUK jajangmyeon

BUUK jajangmyeon is Bueokgan Chinese's signature dish, made in the traditional style by slowly drawing out the flavors of thick pork, onions, and cabbage over low heat.

The jajangmyeon noodles at Bueokgan Chinese had a lovely sheen and a satisfying chew. The rich sauce had soaked deeply into the noodles, making it impossible to put my chopsticks down, haha. Sweet but with the deep, full flavor of chunjang (Korean black bean paste), it was a classic style that people of all ages would enjoy without hesitation.

Hearty, spicy beef brisket jjamppong

Bueokgan Chinese's beef brisket jjamppong has an impressively refreshing broth with a deep, rich flavor. You can also switch it to rice. The broth was seriously excellent. Juices from the generous topping of beef brisket made it even heartier and nuttier. It was not greasy at all; instead, it had a warming, clean-spiced heat that kept drawing me back for another spoonful.

Pork loin tangsuyuk in black-vinegar sauce

Bueokgan Chinese's black-vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk is the restaurant's signature tangsuyuk, with a sauce made from Chinese black vinegar for a deeper, fuller flavor.

Bueokgan Chinese's black-vinegar pork loin tangsuyuk had a sophisticated look and flavor on another level from ordinary tangsuyuk. Thick pork loin was fried, then coated in a thin, glistening sweet-and-tangy black-vinegar sauce. It was the very definition of crisp outside and tender inside. Rather than being overly sour or sweet, it had a subtle black-vinegar fragrance, so I could enjoy every last piece without tiring of it.

Overall, Bueokgan Chinese Haeundae Branch was a place where both the visuals and plating were neat and beautiful, delighting both the eyes and the palate. Delicious food plus that fresh green view made for a perfect meal.
