Signature dishes at Bueokgan in Haeundae

Bueokgan in Haeundae

Bueokgan, a Haeundae restaurant I’d wanted to try for ages!! I think I was going to go around January this year. It was near Lunar New Year, I think... but there was an issue with the ingredient delivery, so I couldn’t go and had to save it for another time,,, haha. And the reason I only made it there now is... the friend I was going to go with back then now lives in Banyeo-dong, so it’s hard for her to come over this way... That’s right, hahaha.

There really aren’t many Haeundae restaurants with parking, you know. There aren’t tons of spaces, but even this much is precious. I remember there being about five or six spaces. I’ve been to Bueokgan twice recently: around 7:30 p.m. on a Thursday there were two spaces left, and around 5 p.m. on a Friday there was only one car! Just something to keep in mind when you visit~

The first floor is Bueokgan Chinese. The second floor is Bueokgan, serving Western food! I heard people sometimes get the floors mixed up... haha.

Spacious interior and tablet ordering

Spacious interior of Bueokgan Haeundae Branch

It’s so spacious! It’s hard to find places this roomy these days, which is just so nice... It was an awkward weekday time, but there were six parties including us when we went in. I imagine it gets pretty busy on weekends!

On the right when you face away from the entrance, there are these green tables.

An open kitchen...? Anyway, you can see a little bit of the kitchen too!

This is what the left side looks like when you face away from the entrance! The table shapes are the same, but the chair colors are different. It’s even better because you can pick the color you want and sit there!

I also loved that you order by tablet! How convenient is it to order right from your seat?

Gorgeous, right! It’s been so long since I had a proper, set-the-table kind of Western meal...

Caesar napa cabbage salad

How was the Caesar napa cabbage salad?

The napa cabbage salad I’d wanted to try since January! I love napa cabbage... I love cabbage pancakes, and I love steamed baby napa cabbage too... My grandmother used to make cabbage pancakes for me sometimes, so I ordered this to bring back those memories!!

Underneath was a cheese-cream-like sauce? It was rich and delicious. I’m not sure what it was, but there was a slightly tangy taste too..? Tomato, maybe...? Anyway, since I love napa cabbage, I enjoyed it so much!!! The bacon chips gave it a bit of crunch and made it fun to chew too!

The shrimp oil pasta I remember most

Shrimp anchovy oil pasta

A pasta lover has to order pasta at a Western restaurant... I debated the tomato earthenware-bowl pasta, really, really debated it... but I was craving oil pasta, so oil pasta it was!

Oil pasta with plump shrimp

The noodles were cooked well, and the shrimp were nice and springy! There was a little broth, so it stayed juicy all the way to the end, hehe. It’s not easy to make something juicy while keeping it springy, but Bueokgan, this Dalmaji favorite, really knows pasta...~

Brothy shrimp oil pasta

An oil pasta anyone can enjoy without feeling overwhelmed. The shrimp were pretty big too, which I loved. Everything was delicious, but if I had to pick just one, I’d pick this pasta...!

Sweet and savory jambon pizza

Jambon pizza served with honey

Jambon pizza! There seem to be more things topped with jambon these days, but I still thought it was a slightly...? unusual pizza, so I gave it a try. It had honey in it, so it was a little sweet, nutty, and salty... delicious! Bueokgan, a Dalmaji favorite that does pizza well too... The atmosphere is nice, so I think it would be great for a date! There’s a parking lot, and if you come by car, there are also a few parking lots along the nearby road...!
