Gwanghwamun dessert café where a Greek yogurt bowl is dinner: Center
In short
Center Coffee Gwanghwamun is a specialty coffee shop on basement level 1 of SFC Mall in the Seoul Finance Center, between Gwanghwamun and City Hall Station in Jung-gu, Seoul. On an evening visit the order was an iced americano, a Greek yogurt bowl and a Matilda cake: the Greek yogurt bowl was filling enough to replace a meal, and the thick chocolate ganache of the Matilda cake matched the bitter iced americano. With comfortable seats and reliably good coffee, Center Coffee Gwanghwamun is worth returning to for a tidy dessert break.

Reviewing the evening order at Center Coffee Gwanghwamun
Iced americano
The iced americano at Center Coffee Gwanghwamun arrives in a clean, clear glass. On the first sip, you get the bean's balanced flavor, a nice acidity, and a nutty finish, one after another.

No harsh or burnt notes — it finishes clean and impressively crisp, and it paired well with both the sweet Matilda cake and the nutty Greek yogurt bowl I ordered alongside it.
Greek yogurt bowl: filling enough for dinner
The Greek yogurt bowl, served in a glass dish, looked substantial from the moment it arrived. On top of a dense, thick Greek yogurt base sit sliced banana, plump shine muscat grapes, raspberries and dried fruit, and a generous amount of crunchy roasted granola.

The natural sweetness of the fruit, the nutty crunch of the granola, and the firm, clean flavor of the yogurt came together so well that it worked perfectly as a light dinner substitute!
Matilda cake with chocolate ganache
The Matilda cake, which brings to mind a certain movie scene, has an overwhelming presence just from looks alone. Layer upon layer of light cake sheets are packed with rich, dense chocolate ganache cream in between.

One bite fills your mouth with deep, rich chocolate sweetness, and the texture holds together well — not too airy, but soft and firm to chew. It's intensely sweet, so pairing it with a bitter, clean iced americano worked really well.

Is Center Coffee Gwanghwamun worth a visit?
Center Coffee at SFC Mall is a Gwanghwamun café where you can enjoy consistently good coffee and well-made desserts, in a location that's easy to reach from both Gwanghwamun and City Hall Station.
