Post-shopping drinks at a Yeongdeungpo izakaya, 2F tables: Nani

My friend and I went shopping at Times Square in Yeongdeungpo, and in the evening we looked for somewhere to grab a simple drink and chat. While we were wondering where to go, something caught my eye right across from Times Square. It was Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch (나니별관 영등포점)!

Where is Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch, and what are the hours?

Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch is an izakaya on the 1st floor of 183 Munnae-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, open Monday through Saturday from 17:00 to 2am the next day. It's directly across from Yeongdeungpo Times Square, so it was easy to walk over for dinner after shopping!

We visited that day after finishing up shopping at Times Square, looking for dinner and a drink. Since it runs from 5pm to 2am, it's a good Yeongdeungpo izakaya for anything from an early dinner to a late-night drink.🍻

Retro exterior and softly lit interior at Nani Byeolgwan

The exterior of Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch caught my eye even before we went in. Instead of the sleek, clean-cut bar look you see everywhere these days, it had a retro feel, like something you'd find down an alley in Japan.

Inside was a completely different vibe from the outside! The lighting was set softly, and there were little props and decor pieces scattered around, making it a nice spot for drinks with friends or for a Yeongdeungpo date.

Seating: 1st-floor bar seats and 2nd-floor tables

On the 1st floor of Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch, there's a bar-seat line that looked good for two people, with table seats set further inside.

When we visited, the table seats already had quite a few guests.

So we headed up the stairs to the 2nd floor to find a seat.

The 2nd floor was mostly table seats, with one spot that felt a bit like a semi-open room.

The framed pieces on the wall added even more to the retro interior feel!

Overall, it wasn't loud or chaotic — more the kind of place where a group can sit cozily together, eat, and have a drink.

Near the table there's a bell on the wall — you just press it for extra orders, ding-dong, which was convenient haha.

There was also a separate self-service line on the 2nd floor. Bowls, chopsticks, spoons, paper cups, regular glasses — everything you might need was ready, so you could just grab what you needed yourself.

Once we sat down, they set up water, paper cups, small plates, spoons, and chopsticks for us as a basic table setting.

What we ordered: steamed clams in sake, cucumber muchim, grilled beef intestine

What we ordered that day: steamed clams in sake / cucumber muchim (cucumber salad) / grilled beef intestine — three dishes! We wanted to try a bit of everything as drinking snacks, and the combination turned out pretty great.

The steamed clams came with a warm broth that paired well as a drinking snack, and there was something fun about popping each clam out one by one.

The cucumber muchim, refreshing and crunchy between bites, was also satisfying!

The grilled beef intestine worked well as a main snack, with a savory flavor that was nice to alternate with the other dishes. Ordering just one dish is fine, but laying out several together like this really made it feel like a proper izakaya visit. Nani Byeolgwan also seemed like a good spot for anyone who wants Yeongdeungpo yakitori or a range of izakaya dishes with their drink.

Since I drove that day, I ordered cider instead of alcohol, and my friend went for a cold beer🍺

Cider for me, beer for my friend — we clinked glasses and spent the time eating good snacks and chatting about this and that.

Is Nani Byeolgwan worth it as a bar near Times Square?

If you're looking for a bar near Times Square, what I liked most about Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch was how accessible it was, being right across from Times Square. Shopping can drain your energy and make you hungry haha. It was convenient not having to travel far to get dinner and a drink nearby.

With its retro exterior, softly lit interior, and a mix of spaces from 1F bar seats to 2F tables, Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch would suit anyone looking for a relaxed drink with friends, or a Yeongdeungpo izakaya after shopping at Times Square. It's especially good when you want to order several tasty snacks in an atmospheric spot and chat over drinks.
