Gangneung sundubu restaurant with a stroller ramp: Jeong Eunsuk
In short
Jeong Eunsuk Chodang Sundubu is a Korean soft tofu (sundubu) restaurant on Nanseolheon-ro in Chodang-dong, Gangneung. Visiting with a 27-month-old and 4-month-old twins, the family rolled the stroller straight in via the ramp beside the waiting area and ordered the Chodang Myeongpum table for three at 25,000 won per person, with dedicated parking and baby chairs making three kids easy to manage. The cooking tasted clean rather than heavily seasoned, and it was the best meal of this Gangneung trip.

Gangneung sundubu restaurant: Jeong Eunsuk Chodang Sundubu
The best meal of a Gangneung trip with three young kids

Traveling around Gangneung with a 27-month-old first kid and 4-month-old twins, the best meal we had was at Jeong Eunsuk Chodang Sundubu. With three kids and a twin stroller in tow, there's a lot to think about — parking, whether a stroller can even get in, what our oldest can eat — and this Gangneung sundubu spot checked every box, plus the staff were kind and the food was delicious 👏🏼🩶
Parking, stroller access and waiting at Jeong Eunsuk Chodang Sundubu

This Gangneung sundubu restaurant has its own dedicated parking lot, so parking is easy, and there's a ramp by the waiting area that made it simple to roll the stroller straight in. The waiting space is big, which made me think this place must be popular — and sure enough, by around 11am the first floor was nearly full. They open at 8am, so it works for Gangneung breakfast too, and the clean, easy-to-eat flavors make it a great pick when you're looking for somewhere baby-friendly to eat in Gangneung. If you don't want to wait, you can prepay a ₩20,000 reservation fee through Naver Reservation and get seated with no waiting at all.
From the first-floor tables you can see into the kitchen, and it's spotless, as is the rest of the restaurant. Everyone was kind too, which made for a pleasant family meal at this Gangneung sundubu restaurant.
They also have baby chairs on hand, so I'd recommend it as a Chodang-dong Korean restaurant worth visiting when traveling with a baby in Gangneung.
Menu and Chodang Myeongpum table price: 25,000 won per person

The menu at this Gangneung sundubu restaurant. There are set menus like the Chodang Myeongpum table (sundubu jjigae + tofu samhap + braised kodari) and the Chodang tofu table (sundubu jjigae + tofu samhap), plus à la carte options like tofu samhap (boiled pork), Chodang tofu hot pot, and Chodang sundubu jjigae. You can also add a half block of tofu, flounder sikhae, boiled pork, or salad. Leave a photo review of your Naver receipt and you get a sundubu pudding for dessert too 🍮
Our family ordered the Chodang Myeongpum table for 3. This set comes with sundubu jjigae, tofu samhap, braised kodari, and several side dishes, at ₩25,000 per person. The clean flavor, not overloaded with seasoning, made this the tastiest meal of our whole Gangneung trip 🫶🏼✨
Side dishes, tofu samhap and braised kodari

Salad, wrap greens, seasoned seaweed, cauliflower, kimchi and more side dishes came out first, all clean-tasting.

Food comes out fast at this Gangneung restaurant, which I loved. The tofu samhap arrived, made up of boiled pork, tofu, and flounder sikhae. The boiled pork had no gamey smell and was tender, the tofu had great texture too. The flounder sikhae was a nice surprise as well. You can reorder tofu and sikhae if you run out!

The braised kodari (Alaska pollock), sweet and spicy, was so good too..!
Chodang sundubu hot pot, with a mild version on request

You can't skip the famous Chodang sundubu jjigae when you're in Gangneung, so we had that too. You can order it mild, but since our kid wasn't going to eat the stew anyway, we went with the regular spice level. Jeong Eunsuk's Chodang sundubu jjigae gets redder and spicier the longer it simmers.

There's crab in the Chodang sundubu jjigae, which gives the broth a seafood depth that made everything taste even better. My husband said this food was exactly his style and ate with real admiration, and I enjoyed it just as much. A recommended spot we'd happily return to on another Gangneung family trip 🦀
