Madam Hao sits behind the Ajou University food alley. 🌿 From the entrance, it already has that authentic, traditional Hanoi feel!

There's a parking lot right in front of the restaurant, so it's easy to drive there, and there's also a pretty photo zone for taking pictures. 📷

We came around noon on a Sunday for lunch, and there were already a lot of people eating! The overall mood is warm, clean, and pretty — great for a family meal with kids like us, and just as good for a date. 💛

Beef brisket pho, ₩11,000: deep, rich broth

Here's Madam Hao's beef brisket pho! The bowl is piled generously high with big chunks of brisket. 👏

The brisket is sliced really thin and tender, melting the moment it hits your mouth.

Lifting the meat aside with chopsticks, I found crunchy bean sprouts underneath and a generous heap of rice noodles too! One sip of the broth revealed a deep, savory beef flavor, with the salty, rich broth soaking beautifully into the soft noodles.

It's a clean, mellow flavor that even the kid ate happily, and picking up the beef and noodles together warms you right up and fills you up. The portion is huge too, so it's great value — pho lovers, you have to try this! 🫶

Bun cha, ₩13,000: just like the plates in Nha Trang

The bun cha (grilled pork with noodles) comes out generously, looking exactly like what I remembered eating in Nha Trang! Even the plain serving of rice noodles is very generous. 👍

The pork is well seasoned with a sweet-and-salty glaze and so tender that it's delicious eaten on its own. There's no skimping on the amount of meat either!

Following the tips written for enjoying the dish, I put the rice noodles, fresh vegetables, and nicely grilled pork into a bowl,🥗 added just the right amount of the spicy-sweet-salty bun cha sauce, mixed it well, and took a bite!

The sauce's spicy, sweet, salty flavor soaked well into the moist rice noodles, and wrapping it with the crunchy fresh vegetables and meat felt clean yet genuinely healthy and delicious. I went to Nha Trang last year, and this had that same local feel — actually more delicious than what I had there. 🤤
