Jeju udon restaurant in Seongsan: curry udon at Seobiu Udon

Today's post is a review of Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu, a pork cutlet (donkatsu) spot near Seongsan Ilchulbong! Such a satisfying and filling meal, sharing the review with you all 🙌🏻

Parking and opening hours at Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu

Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu (성산서비우동돈까스) is an udon and donkatsu restaurant in Seongsan-eup, Seogwipo, Jeju. There are about 2 parking spots right in front of the restaurant, and street parking is also possible until 1pm!

The hours posted on the door! 11:00-20:10, break time 15:00-17:00, last order 19:40!! Keep this in mind before visiting 😙

Inside Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu: seating and setup

Inside, there are three 4-person tables and four 2-person tables. We got there right at the 11am opening and were first in 😚 but it filled up almost completely soon after..!

Water is self-serve from a water dispenser, and there were baby chairs too! Since it's an udon, donkatsu, and rice bowl place, it seemed like a great spot for families too.

Side dishes and small plates are self-serve too! Scissors, tongs, knives, forks and everything else you need are right there to grab, which was nice

You order through the tablet at each table!

Such a huge variety of menu items.. all kinds of udon, donkatsu, and rice bowl options, well set-up combo sets, and even side dishes, so we agonized over what to order 🤔

FYI, for the donkatsu set menus you can add ₩1,000 to swap to cold udon!

There was also an event running where writing a Naver review gets you free inari sushi or a drink

What we ordered 🍽️

How do the curry udon and cheese nabe donkatsu set taste?

The dishes came out quickly, one after another ♡

The assorted fried tempura we ordered as a side! I almost just got the shrimp tempura thinking the portion would be big, but ordering the assorted was the right call 😳 six kinds to enjoy — eggplant, onion, chili pepper, king oyster mushroom, sweet pumpkin, and 2 shrimp — and since we also had curry and nabe, dipping everything in was extra satisfying!!

This is also the inari sushi we ordered as a side — it looks small in the photo but it was actually huge.. piled high with crab-mayo on top!

The cheese nabe donkatsu I had high hopes for 😳 truly loaded with cheese haha. I was worried it'd be really spicy but it wasn't that spicy at all! Right when it arrived it actually smelled sweet, like tteokbokki (spicy rice cake) sauce

This is the mini hot udon from the set, swapped to cold udon!! I like soba more than regular udon, so I swapped it, and the broth had that buckwheat soba broth feel to it, so I enjoyed it a lot

And this was my top pick of the day, the curry udon ♥ topped with egg, chopped green onion, fried flour bits, ground meat, and curry sauce! Once you mix it into the udon noodles it turns rich and thick, and it was just too-oo good 😭

The donkatsu piled high with cheese ♡ it even comes served in a hot pot, so it stays warm the whole time you're eating, which was even better!

The assorted tempura comes pre-cut into bite-sized pieces!

Dipped it in the nabe, dipped it in the curry too 🤤

The shrimp tempura was nice and plump and crispy, so good.

Can you feel how thick and creamy this curry is.. I really love that thick, rich style, and it had just a bit of spice, which hit exactly right!! I mixed the curry sauce with the rice from the donkatsu set and dipped the tempura in it a ton too haha

Oh, and the cheese nabe donkatsu also had a ton of onion, plus dumpling soup pieces (sujebi) and fish cake in it!!

Is it enough food for two people?

At Seongsan Seobiu Udon Donkatsu, honestly, ordering curry udon, the cheese nabe donkatsu set, assorted tempura, and inari sushi for two people was a lot of food. The inari sushi had crispy fried flour bits in the middle too, so we got to enjoy a crunchy texture as well 🥹 it was so delicious that we finished it all going 'ah, I'm so full'..😭

The owners were really kind too, and the food was so delicious.. a place I want to come back to!! Highly recommend the curry udon, it was a genuinely moving flavor.
