Looking for a good Japanese restaurant or gyukatsu spot in Seongsu, I ended up at Gyuen Dang 🍽️

Gyuen Dang is about a 4-minute walk from Seongsu Station Exit 3, so it was easy to find.

How to find Gyuen Dang Seongsu Main Branch, and is there a wait?

You walk into the building with the Gyuen Dang sign out front, head up to the 2nd floor, and the restaurant is right there. It's easy to find since the store comes into view as soon as you climb the stairs.

When I visited there were people waiting, so if you're planning a visit it might be good to book ahead through Naver Reservation. Especially at lunchtime or on weekends, I'd recommend giving yourself a little extra time.

What is the atmosphere like inside Gyuen Dang?

Walking inside, the whole place felt calm and cozy overall. What my friend and I ordered that day was the striploin gyukatsu!

Overall the food was clean-tasting yet flavorful, and the calm, cozy interior made for a relaxed meal. Another plus: the menu isn't limited to just gyukatsu — with omurice, udon, rice bowls, and tempura, there's something for every taste!
