I was walking happily around Seongsu-dong when out of nowhere this really nose-flaring, rich, savory butter smell drifted by! Hahahaha

'Huh? Where's this delicious smell coming from?' I looked around and there it was — Bocado Butter Seongsu Main Store, right in front of me! Curiosity kicked in and I kept glancing around toward where the butter smell was coming from haha

Bocado Butter? Never heard of it before, but even the exterior looked so delicious, and just then the owner was inside carefully baking bocado butter haha. The moment I saw that, I was basically hypnotized and walked straight in.

Bocado Butter menu: the 8-piece set and coconut Einspänner

At Bocado Butter Seongsu Main Store I ordered the 8-piece Bocado Butter set together with a coconut Einspänner. Once inside, I checked the menu board and saw they also sell the coconut Einspänner I'd been curious about! I go crazy for anything coconut haha

So without hesitation I ordered the 8-piece Bocado Butter set with the coconut Einspänner right away! There were several set menu combinations to choose from. They also sell dipping sauces to eat with the bocado butter haha

The owner's hands were seriously quick haha. First up was the coconut Einspänner I'd been looking forward to! The cream on top was so fluffy and full of savory flavor. I drank the Einspänner first — I badly needed a caffeine transfusion haha

Since the espresso base itself had coconut mixed in, I could taste the bittersweet espresso and sweet coconut flavor at the same time — such a satisfying sweet-and-bitter taste! The balance between the cream and the drink was perfect haha

Why Bocado Butter has a sink inside the café

Bocado Butter Seongsu Main Store had a thoughtful little sink set up in one corner of the store! Makes sense — a cookie like bocado butter is best enjoyed picked up and eaten crisp with your fingers, right?

Thanks to the owner's thoughtful touch, I washed my hands clean at the sink before diving in properly haha

How the bocados taste: thin, crisp butter cookies

Finally, the main dessert — Bocado Butter! Made thin and crisp, so easy and satisfying to bite into.

The moment it hit my mouth there was this crunchy snap, then it softly melted away... rich butter flavor spreading all through my mouth — it was seriously amazing. And it even looked delicious before I even bit into it hahaha

One savory, crisp-yet-soft bite of Bocado Butter followed by a sip of the sweet-bitter coconut Einspänner — that combo was seriously insane haha. The bitter coffee cuts right through what could otherwise be a heavy, greasy butter taste, so I inhaled the whole thing like a storm haha

It was so good that between bites of the Einspänner, I cleared through all 8 pieces in no time hahaha

Seating at Bocado Butter for solo visits or two

The interior of Bocado Butter Seongsu Main Store was also clean and full of character! There's a bar table good for sitting side by side, plus a standing table for chatting comfortably — so whether you come solo or with a friend, there's a comfortable spot to enjoy dessert.

I looked it up and apparently 'Bocado' means 'a bite' in Spanish!

True to the name, it's a unique dessert that makes you happy with every single bite — my happiness levels shot right up that day!

If you want to try a big, savory, buttery dessert experience, I'd recommend going for the Bocado Butter and coconut Einspänner combo!

I think I'll be craving that crisp Bocado Butter again soon and coming back for more haha
