Hi, this is your neighborhood food blogger :) Today I'm introducing Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch, a Yeongdeungpo izakaya I visited as a Superchart-sponsored guest. I ordered around ₩110,000 worth of food and got a partial discount through Superchart, but this review is written honestly based on my own experience.

The exterior, with its hanok tiled roof and wooden door, stood out and made the place easy to find even on a first visit. The menu had a good range of drinking-friendly dishes — salmon sashimi, pork belly yaki udon, skewers, and nabe (hot pot). This time we ordered salmon sashimi, pork belly yaki udon, stir-fried pork belly with bean sprouts, and Chum Churum soju!

What is the atmosphere like inside Nani Byeolgwan Yeongdeungpo Branch?

Stepping inside, the dim lighting and deep wood-toned interior made an impression right away. Wall lamps, sake bottle displays, and Japanese-style props around the open kitchen came together for a proper izakaya-near-Yeongdeungpo-Station feel. The tables weren't cramped either, so it was easy to talk one-on-one, and it seemed like a good spot for a group gathering or a date too.

🎥 A short clip of the bottles and props lined up under the warm lighting made the cozy atmosphere come through even more.

🔥 In the open kitchen you could watch dishes get stir-fried over high heat. Seeing the flames flare up got me even more excited for the smoky flavor.

Salmon sashimi, ₩30,000: thick-cut and served cold

The salmon sashimi came out first, with generous thick-cut slices piled high. The salmon had a clear sheen, a soft texture, and a rich, nutty flavor. Paired with onion, radish sprouts, lemon, and wasabi, it stayed clean and never greasy, and since it was kept cold throughout, every last piece was still delicious.

🐟 Dipping a piece of salmon lightly in soy sauce brought out its soft, nutty flavor even more clearly.

Pork belly yaki udon, ₩28,000: the smoky dish to drink with

The pork belly yaki udon featured chewy udon noodles loaded with pork belly, bean sprouts, cabbage, and green onion. The smoky char from high-heat cooking and the salty sauce soaked well into the noodles, making it a great match for drinking. The crunch of the bean sprouts and the richness of the pork belly kept alternating, so it never got boring.

Stir-fried pork belly with bean sprouts, ₩22,000, and how the three dishes paired

🐷 Stir-fried pork belly with bean sprouts, ₩22,000. Plenty of pork belly and bean sprouts came mixed together, so every bite had both meat and vegetables. The bean sprouts kept their crunch rather than wilting too much, and the pork belly's rich fat combined with a salty seasoning made it a warm dish that paired especially well with Chum Churum soju.

Up close, the noodles were packed with meat and vegetables, and the sauce wasn't overly heavy, so it worked well alongside the salmon sashimi. Starting light with the salmon and finishing warm with the pork belly yaki udon made for a satisfying flow of dishes! I'd recommend this combo to anyone looking for yakitori or izakaya food in Yeongdeungpo.

🍜 Picking up noodles, pork belly, and bean sprouts together in one bite brought chewiness, richness, and crunch all at once.

Ordering tips and the ₩110,000 bill breakdown

✅ Ordering tip — Start light and cold with the salmon sashimi, then follow up with the stir-fried pork belly and bean sprouts and the pork belly yaki udon. The contrast in temperature and texture keeps things interesting from start to finish. If there are two of you, start with two dishes, and add the yaki udon on days you're extra hungry.

  • Salmon sashimi ₩30,000
  • + Stir-fried pork belly with bean sprouts ₩22,000
  • + Pork belly yaki udon ₩28,000
  • + 5 bottles of Chum Churum ₩30,000
  • = Total order ₩110,000
